Categories Of Drone

Nano: Within 250 gm Micro: From 250 gm to 2 Kg Small: From 2 kg to 25 Kg Medium: From 25 Kg to 150 Kg Large: More than 150 Kg

To fly a drone in India, You need to be trained as a drone pilot, So let us see how you can become a drone pilot in India.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum age- 18 years Minimum qualification- 10th Passed

Pilot License

No pilot license is required for operating Nano drones and micro drones for non-commercial use. 

But to operate any other type of drone for commercial purposes you need to get a license and training from an approved Institute.

Student License

A student license remains valid for a maximum period of 5 years, and can be renewed for an additional period of 2 years.

Drone Pilot License

Issued by DGCA after successful training & examination valid for 10 years and can be renewed for every 10 years.

Cost of Training

The duration of the course is relatively short around 1 - 2 weeks and the cost of training will be around 30,000 - 1 lakh in an approved Institute.
