The overall objective of the Advanced Lead Engineer is to contribute to the detailed design and documentation of blade development projects, i.e. New Product Introduction and New Technology Projects.

The primary objective of this Position is to secure a stable and cost efficient detailed design (3D CAD and design tolerances) of new LM Wind Power blades within the given project timeframe. This position must execute the detailed design and documentation of the blade from G0 to G5 according to the Blade Project Manual, in close cooperation with external and internal customers (Engineering, Global Equipment Engineering, Plants, Sales, Quality, Sourcing etc.). This Position must handle major and business critical ECR’s from inception to implementation in plants, in close cooperation with internal customers (Engineering, Global Equipment Engineering, Plants, Quality, Sourcing etc.).

This position is fully responsible for the detailed design and documentation. This includes development and implementation of the detailed design as a part of a ‘complete package’ in Regions and relevant group functions, including specification of needed equipment and verification of design during production startup at the Proto build factory.

This position must work according to the LM values and follow the LM guidelines.

 

  • Roles and Responsibilities
    • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical and/or electrical engineering for all products
    • Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
    • Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
    • May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
    • A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Explains technical information to others.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor of Engineering in product design, mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering

Experience with CATIAV5, Unigraphics -3D CAD-modelling, Drafting &Assembly.

Desired Characteristics

Experience with Blade design is an advantage

Experience with fiber reinforced plastics is an advantage.

Experience with CATIA - Composites Design 3 (CPD)  is an advantage.

Experience in setting up BOM in PLM eg Teamcenter.

Knowledge of Axapta and Teamcenter.

Strong communicator within a project team and towards other departments and plants.

Able to communicate with external parties (customers, suppliers, certification bodies etc).

Able to present the output of the blade design activities in a clear and understandable way.

Able to assist colleagues in daily tasks and mentor new engineers.

Plan own work within the given timeframe.

Strong analytical skills.

Work in a structured way.

Perseverance in completing tasks and projects.

Fluent in English.

Willing to travel.
