Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, Research, Design and Develop airframe and aircraft structural components.
• Create complex aerodynamic surfaces in Catia V5.
• Understand functional requirements of components and mechanism and design accordingly.
• Understand weight, strength, environmental, and manufacturability requirements of the structure as per requirements and/or as per regulation and optimize for efficiency.
• Design complex assemblies compliant with aerospace standards and subsequent manufacturing drawings.
• Create watertight geometries for CFD analysis.
• Work with other teams and team members to ensure that integration of subsystems and airframes is excellent.
• Collaborate with FEA and CFD teams to create robust and efficient designs. Work on design improvements.
• Generate and Maintain BOM, Assembly details, Revision history etc.
• Will be involved in the entire design lifecycle from concept to production.
• Generate and assist with product documentation, quality documents and procedures as per ISO, AS standards as applicable.
• Mentor and train junior engineers and interns to assist with design tasks.

Technical Skills :

• Bachelors or Masters in Aeronautical, Aerospace or (Mechanical engineering - with experience working in aviation design) or equivalent.
• 3 - 6 years of related experience.
• Must have excellent Catia V5 skills, especially in the Part design, Assembly, Surfaces, Aero design expert modules. Knowledge in Composite design module is a plus.
• Ability to interpret and create engineering drawings and specifications
• Good understanding of aeronautical concepts related to aircraft design.
• Ability to perform simple to moderate level analysis using FEA or CFD and related tools are preferred but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of Aircraft design standards such as FAR part 23, AS9100.
• Knowledge and understanding of DFMEA (Design failure mode effect analysis), DFMA (Design for Manufacturability & Assembly).
• Hands-on experience in composite manufacturing is an added advantage.
