Technical Operations/Maintenance

Technical Operations includes the maintenance and overhaul of our aircraft. This includes aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities teams, supply chain teams and more.

Job overview and responsibilities

The Analyst – Inventory Management is responsible for the strategic productivity and tactical execution of United Airlines’ aircraft spare parts inventory. The Analyst will accomplish tactical inventory execution through active project management and inventory planning. Responsibilities include:

  • A continuous focus on improving operational reliability by minimizing aircraft out-of-service events, delays and cancellations related to the unavailability of spare aircraft parts
  • Primary focus on exceptions to automated inventory planning tools including, but not limited to: development and execution of inventory required to support new station set ups, deallocation and redistribution of inventory due to station closures, new fleet initial provisioning, individual component pooling agreement coordination and management, external component management agreements, allocations in support of initiatives outside the scope of planning processes
  • Out-of-service aircraft event investigation, reporting and mitigation as necessary
  • Providing actionable insight to short-term and long-term forecasts for the purposes of budgetary planning and integrated business planning
  • Executing against forecast and budgetary projections
  • Utilizing analytical dashboards, automated tools and the airline’s transaction-based computer ERP system (SCEPTRE)
  • Improves operational reliability by minimizing aircraft out of service events, delays and cancellations related to the unavailability of spare aircraft parts
  • Ensures Allocation/ROP assignments are monitored and adjusted, in support of service level goals, if/as needed
  • Development of tactical and strategic plans for Rotable, Recoverable, Repairable and Expendable in support of new station set ups 
  • Manages redeployment of Rotable, Recoverable, Repairable and Expendable inventory upon station closures
  • Develops inventory requirements for initial provisioning in support of new fleet growth
  • Utilizes analytical dashboards, automated tools and the airline’s transaction-based computer ERP system (SCEPTRE)
  • Performs ad-hoc data mining and analysis as required
  • Accountable for overall life cycle of inventory – inception through final disposition
  • Accountable for ensuring material is available and visible throughout the system
  • Monitors, analyzes and reports on performance against plan
  • Drive continuous improvement through the systematic use of tools and techniques

This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.

Required 

  • Bachelor Degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management or related field or comparable experience
  • Minimum 1-4 years experience in fields of the Supply Chain, Airline or Manufacturing Industry
  • Understanding of Supply Chain Planning and Management
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Self Motivated and engrained Continuous Improvement experience
  • Strong people skills and ability to develop internal and external relationships
  • Proven ability to generate consensus amongst disparate viewpoints
  • Experience in project managing a number of large project with varying prioritization and completion dates
  • Demonstrated abilities to find creative ways to reduce operational costs
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage workload accordingly through task prioritization
  • Possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Self-starter with high degree of initiative and ability to manage deadlines
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Analytical approach to problem solving, with attention to detail and a sense of urgency
  • Ability to influence others outside area of direct responsibility
  • Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship
  • Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
