Technical Operations/Maintenance

Technical Operations includes the maintenance, and overhaul of our aircraft. This includes aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities teams, supply chain teams and more.

Job overview and responsibilities

The Technical Operations Reliability team ensures United operates safely and dependably by analyzing aircraft defects and operational disruptions. The team monitors trends to notify maintenance and engineering teams of emerging issues and probable corrective actions. 
The Analyst will aim to provide accurate information and useful insights to help multiple divisions make better data-driven decisions. They will be responsible for identifying key aircraft issues through reporting and analysis. The role mainly includes day-to-day tactical identification of recurring aircraft system failures, elevating them to the responsible parties for disposition, and following up on corrective actions and issues have been rectified. 

  • Analyze repeat and chronic discrepancies on aircraft and elevate for further review by engineers and tech support. Follow up on corrective actions as needed, and close the loop on chronic defects
  • Providing accurate and useful data on time including, but not limited to, identifying ATA codes for tech ops interruptions, identifying component/ condition/ other details for system failures, identifying top system failures, supporting fleet reliability meetings
  • Collaborate with Reliability engineers and support root cause analysis as it related to chronic defects
  • Supporting ongoing reliability/fleet initiatives and ad-hoc requests as needed

This position is offered on local terms and conditions.  Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.

Qualifications

Required 

  • Bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering, other engineering or related disciplines
  • At least 2-4 years of experience in aviation/ aviation maintenance or related fields; or at least 2-4 years of experience in any analytical field
  • Superior attention to accuracy and detail
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools, especially MS Excel
  • Knowledge of aircraft fleet health and/or reliability programs 
  • Ability to manipulate and analyze complex, high-volume data
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to do drill down analysis to identify operational root causes
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship
  • Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred

  • Familiarity with using database querying tools, such as SQL, and data visualization/ reporting tools preferred
  • Ability to design and track meaningful operational metrics preferred
  • FAA A&P License/ DGCA issued equivalent preferred
