Sales

Our Sales team is the largest revenue-generation department at United. They work closely with travel agencies, United travel departments, and corporate clients.

Overview:

This  role will support core functions, projects, company/Legal mandates and data query and analysis for various systems and data sources within Worldwide Sales.  In executing these duties, they will be responsible for: maintenance, testing and implementation while ensuring data quality, integrity and relevance.  Sales Systems include booking, sales and flown revenue information for B2B customers, programs, products and airline credit cards using multiple referential data tables on various platforms

Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinate core support activities for various systems and data sources within Sales.  This includes reporting all bugs, incidents and other changes to existing systems and data processes.
• Test data and/or applications when changes or upgrades are made to servers or other software.  Changes can be company mandates (security vulnerabilities from scans or bounties) or legal mandates (i.e. PCI, GDPR, etc).
• Troubleshoot and assist users with access issues or data related queries.
• Administer the Sales System support in-box for system outages, password resets or system access/removal of access and other system related issues and questions from users.
• Provide data query and analysis of any report, data question or issue that is assigned.
• Implementation of new features to enhance existing systems or data sources, retirement of legacy systems, summarization and jointing of data files and other miscellaneous system or process changes.
• Change Management and Vendor coordination

This position is offered on local terms and conditions.  Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.

Required 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 4+ years of experience in database development, analytical, technical, communication and organizational skills
• 2+ years of experience in using SQL/Teradata for the use of data extraction, cleansing, and analysis.
• Must possess experience in managing system projects
• Excellent knowledge of SQL / Teradata and Query performance optimization
• Experience querying data from various platforms (eDW, Oracle Cloud, etc.)  using SQL, BRIO, or similar tools
• Knowledge and use of bug tracking systems /  ticketing systems/ troubleshooting software (TFS)
• Understanding of standard testing techniques (regression and user testing)
• Understanding of systems and data and how they are programmed to fucntion and interact
• Experience with one of the business intelligence reporting tools
