Job Description

We are looking for an Application Support Engineer – Resource Planning Software to join our team in Singapore.

The individual will come with strong IT technical capabilities combined with the ability and desire to learn about and work with complex system installations for our office in Singapore to join an international environment with a team of like-minded technical support specialists. The global technical support team consists of technical support engineers, system experts and service account managers, operating from five different locations; Gothenburg, Montreal, Singapore, Beijing and Bangalore.

Position Responsibilities:

Resource planning is a complex problem Airlines needs to solve. Having the right amount of resources at any time and training the crew at the right time is an art! Jeppesen Manpower helps Airlines make informed, data-driven decisions to optimize resources. More information about Jeppesen Manpower can be found here.

As an Application Support Engineer, you will spend a significant part of your time to support Jeppesen Manpower Systems. You will be the main voice for customers within Jeppesen for product improvement and bringing more values to the customers. Your main responsibilities will cover following areas:

  • Managing incidents (bug, question or change request) arising from the airlines.
  • Collaboration with product development team, service account team to protect Service Level Agreement (SLA).
  • Analyzing code to assist the client’s support team in finding solutions and workarounds to problems.
  • Providing suggestions for improvement on business processes
  • Implementing improvements to better align client systems.
  • Occasionally travelling to visit customers primarily within APAC.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

This role requires an individual who is experienced and interested in an array of IT related technical areas.

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Strong programming skills (Python and Java an advantage)
  • Good communication skill and soft skills
  • Ability to influence customer and others

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Particular interest in technical problem solving
  • Good knowledge of Unix and/or Linux
  • Airline operations experience.
  • Exposure to working with customers and support experience

Typical Education and Experience:

  • 2-6 years’ experience in a software application support role, or equivalent
  • Bachelor degree in Software Engineering, Aviation Operations, or equivalent
  • Airline experience in crew scheduling or resource planning is advantageous

Candidates must have authorization to work in Singapore and the Company will not be sponsoring Employment Visas.
