Job Description

Advise and assist the Commander of NSRC SAR, concerning planning, developing, conducting, evaluating, and improving SAR operations and training.

Will also be responsible for:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Checks that specific aerodrome requirements are available and are adhered to as per OM-C.
• Verifies if requirements are met by the crew in terms of route, area, and aerodrome knowledge for the planned flights.
• Ensures that the necessary handling requests and airport slots are coordinated and confirmed to carry out the flying program.
• Reports the standards of performance of handling agents to the Ground Operations Manager.
• Ensures the completion and filing of flight plans for the safe and efficient operation of aircraft.
• Ensures that all necessary flight clearances are obtained to carry out the flying program.
• Ensures the day-to-day running of the Operational Control Centre and maintains the duty rosters of all flight crew members.
• Ensures a correct and complete Crew Briefing is generated from the flight planning software system.
• Liaises with the CAMO manager on daily operational issues of technical matter.
• Monitors all the flights from start to finish and submits flight status reports to the individual responsible person.
• Checks and adapts the operations management software to reflect the actual flight operations.
• Checks post flight data send by the crew and reacts/adapts as needed.
• Reacts to & advises the CAM of any operational matters of technical kind (MEL/AOG support);
• Adapts and checks the duty roster of each individual crew member to reflect the actual flown duties and adjusts if needed to safeguard the continuation of the flight operations.
• Uploads the filled operational flight plan to the management software system.
• Participates in the functioning of the Emergency Response Plan within the Operations Control Centre.

QUALIFICATION

•   Bachelors or equivalent degree from a credited university/college, preferred in Operation/Business/Administration or Management.
•   Preferably a holder of a Dispatcher’s License (EASA, GCA or FAA).
•   Any Operations Training Certificates obtained during career development.

EXPERIENCE

•   Must have 3-5 years’ experience in Aviation operations.
•   A comprehensive knowledge of flight operational requirements and procedures.
•   Knowledge of management systems.
•   Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.
• A good command of Word and Excel.
•   Computer Literacy - expert level experience of all MS Office products (Word, Excel, Power-Point) and mission planning program.
