As a Researcher – Business and Technology based in Singapore, you will help us radically change the airline industry through innovative leadership. Your participation in airline research will provide technical and new business ideas. Research focus will be on delivering navigation, crew, fleet, maintenance and flight optimization solutions.

You will work in a fast pace self-directed global team environment and perform a variety of duties, such as market and business needs analysis, workflow and information analysis, system specification, innovative/creative systems design with associated business value, and concept evaluations with user centered design approach.

You will investigate emerging technology & aviation market trends. Assist with coordination of internal and external customer consultations, demonstrations, and presentations. Assist with generation of high level estimates for R&D proposals. Collaborate with peers and coach university students.

Position Responsibilities:

• Serves as business & technical solutions researcher providing domain experience to peers and management; assists team members and directs future concepts
• Workflow and information analysis in a self-directed global team, including market focused approach and analysis, system specifications, innovative/creative systems design and concept evaluations with customers, applying known techniques in creative ways
• Supports labor estimates for iteration planning and future project planning. Identifies and enlists internal and external partners to be used in departmental research efforts
• Researches aviation market trends and utilizes market analytics to provide new technical business value proposition for future concept solutions
• Follows best practices from agile processes, works in an iterative and innovative project framework and supports minimal documentation during concept development as appropriate to research environment. Makes recommendations for improvements to existing processes
• Researches important targets and areas for innovation, including intellectual property submissions, patents, and publications
• Communicates with internal and external stakeholders and customers, including iteration and design reviews, industry presentations, possible participation in industry working groups, R&D proposal reviews, and other support as needed
• May oversee individual thesis and project work with university students, including working with universities to onboard students; establish national and international university relationships
• Attends conferences and reports out on trends and technologies identified

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

• B.A. / M.A. in Entrepreneurship, Business Psychology, Innovation Management, Economics or MBA  / M.S in Aerospace, Computer Science, Engineering or a combination of both
• Typically 2+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Entrepreneurial initiative with a strong ‘hands-on’ mentality, loves getting things done
• Motivated by an international and fast-paced work environment with a strong team spirit and motivational character
• Excels in building cohesive teams through innovation, design thinking and professional collaboration
• Experience in business model frameworks and methodology, e.g. Product Value Proposition Design & Business Canvas Modeling
• Experience working with research & product teams and/or designers to drive insights into product solutions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, can express themselves fluently in English
• Ability to push boundaries while maintaining a well-structured way of working in self-directed teams and a collaborative environment amongst business as well as academic partners

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

• Aviation or Airline industry experience
• Experience in research and development
• Experience in rapid prototyping or agile software development processes

This requisition is for a locally hired position. Candidates must have authorization to work in Singapore and the Company will not be sponsoring Employment Visas. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not on Boeing US-based payroll.
