Job Description

Role Introduction

To support Business Development team in setting commercially viable pricing and distribution strategies to maximize revenue generation through effective use of data insights.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Assist Head of Business Development to leverage on Pricing tools and data insights to deliver revenue objectives
  • Actively collaborate with the Country Sales Team and Regional Team to effectively contribute to channel optimization and revenue maximization in the region
  • Act as the single contact point between Revenue Management and the regional team for pricing decisions designed to fulfil revenue maximization objectives
  • Continuously improve work processes that facilitate speed to market Pricing

Pricing and Fares

  • Prepare fare proposals and ensure 100% accuracy of fares sent to Revenue Management office and fare filing team
  • Review fare products in a timely manner to ensure product relevance and competitiveness
  • Effectively connect regional / local market intelligence with pricing and distribution decisions
  • Progressively identify and implement any potential yield improving opportunities
  • Ensure our pricing structure is such that promotes up-selling and cross-selling behaviors
  • Proactively plan and design fare products for promotions of all kinds as and when needed, jointly with Digital and Marketing Unit at regional level

Sales Planning

  • Support business data analytics by using tools such as DDS, QlikView, QlikSense as required to provide direction to countries’ sales activities.
  • Help to translate data analytics into sales insights to enable country sales teams to evaluate their strategy and approach
  • Monitor sales performance and react quickly to maximize revenue opportunities

General

  • Effectively serve as the bridge between Head Office Departments and Regional / Country teams to ensure timely exchange of market intelligence and network opportunities are adequately addressed
  • Ensure pricing strategies are discussed and agreed with Head Office stakeholders and that they are clearly defined, documented and communicated at regional level
  • Manage fare structures in a customer centric manner to fulfil needs from broadened distribution
  • Lead, support Head Office / Regional commercial initiatives to maximize network and ancillary revenue across all distribution channels
  • Any other reasonable task as requested

People Management and Performance Management

  • Lead, support and encourage own team to achieve success
  • Build a strong and motivated team, ensuring the right organizational structure and the right people are in place to foster positive team spirit and facilitate teamwork
  • Supervise and mentor direct reports, encouraging effective collaboration
  • Demonstrate leadership and lead by example in accordance with Cathay’s core values
  • Develop employees with high potential and identify learning opportunities to ensure appropriate training and development
  • Actively engage with employees to enhance communication and their understanding of department goals, as well as driving individual performance

Requirements

Academic qualifications

  • A tertiary qualification (or equivalent) majoring in business - airline or a related field is an advantage

Knowledge, skills, training and experience

  • Strong analytical skills
  • 3+ years of Airline pricing experience
  • Experience in leading a team to success
  • Sound knowledge of tools such as DDS, INFARE
  • Good negotiation and presentation skills
  • NGAI, ATPCO, NDC, SFA knowledge is an advantage
