Job Description

The successful candidate will be part of Cargo Division, Singapore Sales (Cargo) Department. He/She is expected to formulate marketing plans and set strategies for the department to achieve operational KPI targets with the objective of increasing profitability for the company. He/She must also actively seek out business prospects and develop potential new market opportunities whenever possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify sales leads and build direct relationship with shipper accounts to increase their spend on SIA Cargo  
  • To nurture existing direct and indirect vertical accounts (aerospace, pharmaceutical, electronic) and market SIA Cargo as the preferred air cargo partner in specialized segments 
  • Understand operational capabilities of the shipper account and engage the relevant departments (Cargo Space Management, Commercial Planning, Hub Ops) to improve overall business competency
  • Be the main point of contact for the shippers to meet their overall sales and operation requirements in order to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Develop marketing strategies and materials which include the gathering of industry information, data analysis to facilitate the revenue growth of all verticals.
  • Develop new sales segments to improve SINSales overall revenue and tonnage growth.
  • Spearhead ICMS modules related to SIN Sales (e.g. Finance, Accounting  and Reservations modules ).
  • Oversees Accounts unit to investigate on billing error, XPS claims and attend to direct shipper enquiries.
  • Take on any other new projects assigned by the management.    

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, preferably in Finance or Business Administration
  • Sales or Business Development experience preferred
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Independent and self-starter with good communication and interpersonal skills; a team player who is able to motivate subordinates
  • Confident and has the ability to communicate and relate with people of diverse background.
  • Ability to manage and negotiate with very senior level executives (both in ranks and age) of the freight forwarding industry.
  • Strong business acumen and negotiation skills
  • Dedicated, committed and hardworking
  • Prior experience in logistics preferable in an air freight related organization is an added advantage
