Job Description


As Cargo Services Supervisor (Terminal), you will be responsible for the general control of the shift in the warehouse and wherever cargo is located, stored, prepared or manifested. Supervise the shift to a level where all cargo will ‘fly as booked’ or is speedily ‘ready for delivery’ in order to ensure safety and security and punctuality in all aspects of freight handling.

  • Plan available manpower for the relevant shifts for warehouse/airside to optimize productivity and efficiency and further minimize the overtime.
  • Brief all staff on day to day operational requirements, special handling, circular and other management information and ensure staff are 100% knowledgeable on current work instructions, rules and regulations
  • Identify special loads for all flights & plan and handle them as per the specific requirements of the airline.
  • Maintains a high level of performance of staff and equipment by constantly making physical / actual checks to ensure its compliance with agreed processes.
  • Monitor and measure ‘best practice’ processes against Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), reports, audits and where immediate investigation is necessary, with recommendations for corrective action to stop incidents from occurring.
  • Verifies, through spot-checks, that all cargo practices support corporate Security and Safety standards 100% of the time.
  • Communicate and coordinate with all departments to ensure smooth flow of cargo transfer from warehouse to aircraft for all flights.
  • Acts as the point of contact for all Airline queries and respond to complaints and requests for information and assistance, interpret and explain procedures and policies pertaining to internal inquiries of management and staff.
  • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Qualifications

About you:

 

  • High school graduation
  • Preferred - Vocational/Diploma or Associate Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience
  • Fluent in reading, writing and speaking English
  • Provides excellent customer service and takes feedback
  • Able to resolve problems without much interventions
  • Sets own measures of performance and meets objectives.
  • Ensures team members know and understand what is expected of them.
