Job Description


To manage, monitor and control the cost areas of the Engineering and Maintenance activity (excluding scrap and G9 transactions) and fuel for European stations aiming for bringing more efficiency and cost reduction in all finance related activities. Independently, prepares budgets, financial reports and financial analysis; interacts with internal and external parties such as vendors, departments and auditors 

Ensures all transactions are as per agreed contracting terms and systems are updated timely and accurately. 

Key Result Responsibilities

Engineering

  • Monitors, processes and follows up on the Engineering and Maintenance activities costs for Air Arabia Maroc in coordination with Engineering teams ensuring timeliness and accuracy in executing and recording all related transactions in Engineering system
  • Verifies all invoices related to Engineering and Maintenance activities against orders raised in Engineering system, performs the matching on the system and follows up with Engineering department for queries related to invoices and resolves them accordingly
  • Verifies the Advance Suppliers invoices and coordinate with Engineering department and Accounting for payment
  • Monitors, processes and follows up the credit notes to receive from all vendors and communicate them to accounting team
  • Coordinates with Accounting team to process the payments for the approved invoices
  •  Maintain an accurate and up-to-date data bases for all approved invoices, disputed cases and credit notes received / to be received
  • Prepare quarterly statement of each Engineering supplier and deals with vendors / Engineering department to close pending credit notes / disputed costs and provide Accounting with the quarterly final statement.

Key Result Responsibilities - Continued

  • Conducts analysis and monthly reports on the Open items and status.  Coordinates with the Engineering teams on any cancellations of orders and records the same accordingly.
  • Maintains an updated database and excel sheets of Engineering and maintenance agreements terms, and cost
  • Conducts cost and invoice analysis; analyses rates in orders orders/invoices against previous purchases and agreed contracting terms.
  • Prepares the monthly situation of accruals for accounting purposes; corresponds with Engineering department for orders update (if any), calculates the accruals based on contracting terms, communicates the file to accounting team by the 4th
  • Coordinates with Engineering department for sales activity, follows up all the transactions, maintains an up-date situation of sales, communicate the cases to revenue service for invoices issuance

Fuel cost 

  • Maintains an updated database and excel sheets of the fuel contracts terms, differential, fees for the concerned airports
  • Verifies the received invoices against terms and rates highlighted in the agreements for the fuel fees and product price against the price notifications and communicate to vendors any discrepancies and follows up till necessary adjustments are done
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date data bases for all approved invoices disputed cases and credit notes received / to be received
  • Coordinates with Accounting team to process the payments for the approved invoices
  • Prepare quarterly statement of each fuel supplier and deals with vendors to close pending credit notes / disputed costs

Handling cost

  1. Maintains an updated database and excel sheets of the SGHA agreements terms, rates, and charges for the ground handling contracts for all stations.
  2. Partners with Ground Operations to monitor the expiry/validity of the agreements and contracts signed with ground handling providers in the different stations and ensure they are duly renewed and maintained; provides feasibility studies to challenge for better rates and services wherever applicable
  3. Prepare quarterly statement of each ground handling supplier and deals with handler to close pending credit notes / disputed costs and provide Accounting with the quarterly final statement in coordination with Ground operations department

Budget, reportings 

  1. Prepares the monthly budget reportings of Engineering and fuel (excluding hedging and tankering impact), Marketing & corporate communication, handling and others. Submits them to Manager Finance Analysis for review by the 8th for Engineering and fuel and by the 10th of the others.
  2. Prepares the costs of AOG and significant disruptions and coordinate with Finance Analysis and cost control team for the other costs for consolidation
  3. Prepares the handling yearly budget under the supervision of Manager Finance Analysis.
  4. Supports the Stakeholders in budget preparation process as advised by Manager Finance Analysis / Finance Manage

Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)

  • Master’s degree in Accounting / Finance/ or equivalent from a recognized university/ business school. A bachelor’s degree combined with extensive experience and exposure is acceptable. Capable of using technology systems and tools mainly finance related ones. 
  • Capable of using technology systems and tools mainly finance related ones.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office- Excel, Word, Power Point skills, Internet and Web Search.  
  • Cost Control and Auditing certificates and trainings are an added value and  
  • Intermediate in English Language 
  • Fluent in French Language 

Work Experience

  • 3+ years of comprehensive working experience in corporate finance or accounting in any industry, preferably for a company operating on regional/multinational level.
  • He/she must have worked in a mid-sized organization operating on a regional/multinational level, preferably in Airlines/Travel/Tourism industry; experience with low-cost airline would be an advantage.
  • Sound knowledge in accounting cycle, process flow and procedures is a pre-requisite.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge in accounting fundamentals
  • Strong math and numerical reasoning ability and high accuracy are mandatory for this role.
  • Familiar with formalities and pre-requisites associated with internal and external audits.
  • Good level in a computerized accounting environment is essential.
  • Good financial, analytical and reporting skills.
  • Capable of meeting deadlines without compromising quality of outcome.
  • Proven skills in analyzing data, identifying irregularities and recommending corrective measures.
  • High attention to details, confidentiality, and ability to adhere to procedures and set measures are a must.
  • Cost-oriented, possesses effective negotiation and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to use a balance of technical expertise, and interpersonal relations to interact with senior level stakeholders and external providers to support company’s objectives.
  • Capable of working for long hours and under pressure.
  • Demonstrates the ability to contribute and successfully deliver against business strategy and set KPIs.
