Job Description

The Credit Manager is the interface between a (regional) portfolio of external customers (about 80 – 120 active customers) and Airbus Customer Services for all customer credit / payment issues. The ultimate goal is to ensure that customers pay on time for the services rendered by Airbus (including spares and material services by Satair). This position leaves quite a bit of room for individual creativity and flexibility to achieve this goal.

In order to achieve this you will develop and maintain a trustful sustainable relationship with your customers. You will assess the credit risks for your customer portfolio, give advice for payment securizations for new offers, and guide the collection process (finally motivate customers to pay their bills on time) with support from the team of Customer Support Directors and the GAM team (Global Account Management), and thus contribute to the cash objectives of the Airbus Group.

In this role, active and constructive communication with external customers and Airbus’s worldwide Customer Services departments for issue resolution is essential, travelling to customer facilities and TLS HQ is part of the job.

As a Credit Manager your main task will be to ensure for your customer portfolio that invoices are paid on time as per contractual terms, and that losses from bankruptcies are avoided.

You will be in the position to track your achievements almost every day when checking the customer cash receipts in the bank statements.

You will play an important role in the entire order-to-cash process, and to start with you need to understand the contractual relationship between Airbus Customer Services and external customers, and to some extent contribute by giving advice to the contractual contents with regard to commercial and payment terms.

You will assess regularly the credit risks for customers in your portfolio and work on corresponding risk mitigation.

In your efforts to ensure timely customer payments you will work in SAP system to analyze and control financial data of customers in your regional portfolio, and perform necessary dunning actions from regular reminders, dispute resolution, to escalation and potential sanctions for delinquent customers. This will be done in accordance with defined processes, policies and guidelines, and in close coordination with the Global Account Management (GAM) team.

While team work is essential for reaching the objectives, you will enjoy a good amount of freedom and flexibility in your individual work planning and way of working.

At the end, the main challenge is often to find constructive solutions for customers’ problems to enable them to pay Airbus.

Requirements:

  • Being a team-player is important in this small team, a good sense of humor is helpful
  • Interest and curiosity to work, interact and negotiate with people of different nationalities and cultures to find solutions to reach your objectives. Hence good customer orientation and diplomacy when pursuing the business objectives are important.
  • Digital mindset. Eagerness to expand the digital activities and credit management tools, to further value add to the digital/automation experience of customers (APAC region/SAS entity)
  • A self-starter and highly motivated incumbent who can persevere in unsavory situations. Speak up attitude for continuous improvements and challenging the status quo.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills and fluency in English is a must
  • SAP knowledge and experience as well as excellent PC capabilities are required for the hands-on tasks
  • Ideally you will have a business degree and some sound commercial (Trade, Logistics, Transportation) and contractual experience. Basic understanding of financial accounting is required.
  • Readiness for short business travels is expected and complements the set of required skills.
