Airport Operations

The Airport Operations department keeps operations at our airports running smoothly through planning, organization and supervision.

This position is located at the DEL airport in New Delhi, India

Job overview and responsibilities

  • Issue/reissue domestic and international tickets on United with full understanding of fare rules
  • Complete forms and process refunds
  • Make reservations, seat assignments re-accommodation of flights
  • Provide flight information
  • Comply with United Airlines' guidelines and company policies and procedures as they relate to negotiable documents, validator plates and cash drawer
  • Ensure ticket counter presents the desired corporate image
  • Responsible for the accuracy and verification of all cash transactions negotiable documents (ticket stock and company drafts) and sales reports
  • Immediately report and document any discrepancies or irregularities to supervisor
  • Assist other agents and customers with problems and concerns
  • Observe all activity and screen all personnel entering the aircraft
  • Search interior of the aircraft in an expeditious manner
  • Observe the catering process form preparation to transport to aircraft
  • Observe cargo process from acceptance to transport to aircraft; screen held baggage utilizing an xray machine
  • Customer security interviews
  • Perform all security functions to ensure compliance with all TSA and Indian security regulations in an extraordinary international airport environment

This position is offered on local terms and conditions.  Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.

Required

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent school leaving certificate
  • Able to work the ticket counter as well as the boarding gates and baggage service area
  • Must have a professional appearance
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills
  • Proven customer service work experience
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to lift and maneuver heavy baggage
  • Able to stand and walk throughout the entire work shift
  • Able to travel to US for training if required 
  • Flexible to work ANY shift that is assigned to you within a 24 hour, 7 day a week operation which can include late nights, early hours, weekends and holidays
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Must be fluent in English and Hindi (written and spoken)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
