Job Description

Minimum requirements

  • Deputy Chief Security Officer will be the second in command of aviation security for the airline. He shall report to the CSO and assist him in the implementation of regulatory instructions issued by the BCAS.
  • Qualification: Graduation or above.
  • Experiences: Dy. CSO should have minimum 10 years of prior experience in aviation security operations of any airline. Should possess valid Basic Avsec, Auditors & Instructors certifications from BCAS.
  • Key ResponsibilitiesConducting an initial and comprehensive survey of the aircraft operators facilities, equipment, and activities in order to determine security needs and assess likely threats.
  • Developing or modifying the aircraft operator security programme, and quality control programme, to correct deficiencies.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective liaisons with BCAS, all relevant authorities and stakeholders in order to contribute to the industries development of security systems and to comply with statutory requirements.
  • Promoting security awareness and vigilance among the employees.
  • Ensuring an effective response by the aircraft operator to any threat or security incident.
  • Initiating special security measures during periods of increased risk and/or for critical flights and routes.
  • Maintaining familiarity with applicable legislation and regulations related to aviation security in the geographic areas served by the aircraft operator.
  • Maintaining a record of all unauthorized weapons or suspect explosives devices detected on the aircraft operators aircraft or on property used by the aircraft operator; and
  • Reporting all actual or suspected acts of unlawful interference with aircraft operations to the Chief Security Officer.
  • Ensuring the timely procurement of airport entry passes for all employees across the network.
  • Ensuring that all staff under command receives all mandatory initial as well as recurrent training, as specified by the regulatory authority.
  • Impart in-house AVSEC training to all employees, as per requirement.
  • Conduct periodical internal and external audits, as laid down by the regulatory authority.
  • Maintaining all documents pertaining to the flight operations as well as administrative matters of the department.
  • Periodical evaluation of staff performance aimed at the overall performance improvement of all security staff in the network.
