We are recruiting for Development Engineer Level 2 to be based in Doha, Qatar.

• Development Engineer Level 2 will ensure that all applicable continuing airworthiness requirements (with regards to QCAA approved CAMO) are reviewed and implemented. To review reliability alerts related to systems, components or aircraft dispatch and analyse, identify solutions and propose implementation plans to maintain optimum level of reliability and cost levels.To assist Maintenance Section and other internal and external customers in resolving technical queries, and repetitive defects. Initiating and processing deviations to certified aircraft configuration or approved maintenance data.
• Specific responsibilities of the role include:
• Operational
• Evaluates Airworthiness and other Service Documentation (AD/CN/SB/SIL/OIT/AOT/VSB/TFU/FTD) issued by airworthiness authorities, aircraft manufacturers or vendors and take necessary actions in a timely manner (e.g. issue EO, ESWC, CMA, TN, recommend amendments to technical publications, Aircraft
  Maintenance Program etc.)
• Evaluates technical and commercial proposals, retrofit Modification Orders and Corporate Engineering Change requests and make recommendations.
• Evaluates, analyse and find or create solutions to problems related to components and systems that exceed alert levels in Reliability Reports, Issue necessary technical documentation and co-ordinate with various in-house departments, vendors and manufacturers as needed to define or implement solutions.
• Initiates campaign inspection, modifications and engine/APU/component shop visits as applicable and coordinate with all concerned to ensure their timely accomplishment.
• Assists maintenance in resolving repeated defects and other technical issues e.g. AOG support,clarification of technical data, processing of deviations to certified configuration or approved data etc.
• Performs technical investigations into TORs/MORs/ASRs recommend/implement corrective and preventative measures as required.
• Communicates with manufacturer’s vendors and internal departments/sections on technical and project issues as required from time to time and assist Aircraft Program Section in technical matters.
• Reviews industry experience related to aircraft and components in service and utilize such knowledge to enhance service levels and reliability. Attend conferences, workshops and meetings as needed.
• Recommends amendments in aircraft maintenance program and MEL under airworthiness authority guidelines on Qatar airways specific maintenance requirements.
• Prepares product specification and assist commercial department in preparing Request for Information, Request for Proposal and purchase agreement documents for selection of a new components and systems or upgrade of such systems.
• Reviews engineering data and drawings for accuracy before embodiment.
• Evaluates technical specifications of new and used aircraft and equipment for possible induction; define the layout and specification to satisfy Qatar airways and regulatory requirements.
• Assists other sections in commercial evaluation and assessment of expenditure using superior product knowledge and experience to ensure Company interests are fully protected.
• Performs other department duties related to the position as directed by the head of the department.

About you

• The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
• Degree (B. Eng., BSc in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics of Aeronautical Engineering).
  May or may not hold an ICAO type II License with 6 years job related experience of airworthiness/ /reliability/technical support engineer role in a
  continuing airworthiness maintenance organization of a reputed airline.

Job Specific Skills:

• Good Knowledge of aircraft systems/power plant/structures preferably training on one or several types of aircraft operated by the Company.
• Experience in usage of Airman, Airbus world, My Boeing Fleet, Airplane Health Management and Maintenance Performance Toolbox and/or equivalent systems for various power plant and equipment manufacturers will be an advantage.
• Experience in using Airbus Technical Request and Boeing Service Request applications.
• Good working knowledge of Company policies, procedures, scope of capability and limitations.
• Clear and precise communication in English language and negotiating skills.
• MS office and other soft skills including the MIS and other applications used by the Technical Department.
• Good knowledge of Technical organizational structure and strong interpersonal skills.
• Problem solving and decision making.
