Job Description

To provide information and on-going support to all in-house functions on all the regulations, documentation, manuals, formats, software and systems related to the technical publications.  Acts as a middleman between external regulatory bodies, vendors etc. on one hand and Engineering & Operations Department on the other to update, maintain, and communicate all publications essential to ensure compliance of Air Arabia fleet with the CAMO program and to support the Operations teams in their daily work.

Key Result Responsibilities

  • Ensure publication and control of all in house publications in coordination with peer/s responsible for Document Production. 
  • Track and arrange for all in house publications approvals.
  • Updates and maintains all documents and coordinates with all sections to keep their applicable manuals current. This includes revisions from Aircraft, engines and component manufacturers to their documents through a subscription or other agreements.
  • Administers the distribution of publications to external service providers (MROs, Line Stations, GHA, Cargo Handling Agencies & Security companies)
  • Revises the stock copies and master copies of documents held by the Technical Publications & Operations Documentations.
  • Maintains Aircraft Libraries
  • Identifies, updates, distributes and retains documents of external origin.
  • Formally withdraws obsolete documents from service as per the approved procedures and processes.
  • Updates document control database immediately after publishing and distribution
  • Backing up of Electronic folders/files in accordance with company policy
  • Maintains a Vendor Control Card which is cross checked annually with Manufacturer and/or Vendor Publications Index Manual.
  • Document and check newly received or revised documents according to the approved procedure.
  • Maintain Engineering/Maintenance and Operations Publications that are issued by various ABY sections.
  • Update, distribute and maintain record of Temporary revisions.
  • Publish and maintain updated records of Technical Documents for/ from Outstations through respective unit and obtain acknowledgment slip from respective parties.
  • Maintain up to date files of all ABY Vendor publications.
  • Maintain an up to date distribution list for all Vendor Manual and that all approved locations have up to date Technical Data.
  • Establish log - in / log - out procedures in order to control location of all Technical Data in Technical Publications.
  • Deputise for others in the team when required
  • Performs any other duties as advised by the Line Manager.

Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)

  •  Bachelor degree or equivalent; alternately a higher diploma or certificate in a relating field from a recognized institute combined with needed experience and exposure.
  • A degree in Engineering will be treated as an advantage.
  • Compliance, Document Control, Librarian and Quality Assurance trainings are an added value and may be treated as conditional for this role.
  • Possesses appropriate knowledge of the legal requirements of the GCAA or a major civil aviation authority
  • Hands on technology systems & tools; proficient in Microsoft Office, Internet and Web search; Adobe Frame Maker /Illustrator/Adobe/ERP/ EFB is an advantage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills: reporting, presentations, etc.
  • Fluent in English Language.

Work Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar capacity in the Aviation industry, handling publications or technical library experience with Airbus A320 aircrafts is preferred.
  • Relative understanding of the aircraft planning and maintenance publications and their relation to the airworthiness program.
  • Possesses appropriate knowledge of the legal requirements of the GCAA pertaining to the Engineering and operations policies, procedures, manuals and licensing.
  • A relative exposure on airline and Flight Operations, standard regulations.
  • A multi-task oriented performer with high accuracy and great attention to details.
  • High adaptability, demonstrates skills in working with changes on data and resources efficiently; Possesses excellent organizing and time management skills even in frequently changing environments; Applies judgment in assessing matters combined with good problem solving and decision making skills; Dependable, self-initiative, takes ownership, and displays energy and enthusiasm; Capable of working hard under pressure without compromising the quality of the outcome; Employs technical expertise, and interpersonal relations to support company’s objectives; Demonstrates the ability to contribute and successfully deliver against business strategy and set KPIs
