Job Description

Rresponsible for performing calibration on the equipment - used for aircraft maintenance – in order to ensure they are in top operational condition; ensure assigned calibration tasks are performed in full compliance with configured reference data as well as applicable technical guidelines, standards, and regulations.

Perform O, I and D Level when its applicable.

Also will be responsible for:

  • Sets up test equipment and conducts tests on performance and reliability of mechanical, structural or electromechanical equipment based on their level of authorization and area of expertise as per documented procedures.
  • Disassembles and assembles instruments and equipment, using the stipulated hand tools, and carries out inspections and adjustments.
  • Analyzes and converts test data, using mathematical formulas and prepares reports and suggest modification.
  • Ensures laboratory is maintained in a presentable condition at all time.
  • Performs preventative and corrective maintenance of test and calibration equipment.
  • Reports requirement of technical/ OEM manuals.
  • Follows the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work.
  • Assists the Calibration Supervisor in the planning, supervision and direction of calibration operations.
  • Assists supervisor during internal and external audits process by maintaining and providing the required data, as well as resolving non-conformities brought out during audits.
  • Contributes to the effective management and development of calibration policies to ensure a compliant operation with ISO AS9110.
  • Supports new capability insertion through assisting the Calibration Supervisor to initiate selection and purchasing process for appropriate calibration standards during capability development.
  • Analyzes training needs and cross-training requirements on different equipment and informs Calibration Supervisor.
  • Trains and coaches new and junior technicians to ensure continuous knowledge transfer.
  • Manages any local training as deemed appropriate arising from tasks undertaken.
  • Updates calibration records appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Follows the day-to-day operations related to assigned duties to ensure continuity of work
  • Prepares timely and accurate departmental MIS statements and reports of GAL to meet company and department requirements, policies and standards
  • Ensures compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude
  • Oversees improvements to departmental policies and directs the implementation of procedures and controls so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to customers.
  • Performs other related duties or assignments as directed.

QUALIFICATION

  •  - Bachelor, Higher Diploma or diploma or skill level 5 certified in respective trade.

EXPERIENCE

  •  - Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience within maintenance operations area at an Airbase.
    • Knowledge of aircraft launching and recovering processes
    • Knowledge of basic maintenance processes and procedures
