Job Description

Responsible for overseeing and managing company's overall supply chain and logistics strategy and operations in order to maximize the process efficiency and productivity. Developing and maintaining good relationships with vendors and distributors.

Will also be responsible for:

  • Manages section’s strategic and operational objectives (KPIs) that are aligned with and drive the achievement of GAL’s strategy and objectives.
  • Designs strategies and a Supply Chain for future effectiveness in the areas of Demand Planning, Procurement and Subcontract to guide teams to effectively capture and identify opportunities.
  • Works closely with the Head of Technical Procurement to develop and implement long-term strategy for supply chain improvement and deliver improved operating results.
  • Supports strategic negotiations to maintain current and grow new long-term business goals for GAL.
  • Strategically develops and leads commodity/supply chain strategies covering all commodities, services and supplier processes to deliver maximum value, leverage, and standardization.
  • Understands and challenges purchasing demand, specifications and cost budgets and set directions for improvements with functions heads.
  • Sets saving targets and drives compliance to the contracts and policies.
  • Manages the integration of multi-functional projects through developing, coordinating and evaluating projects plans, budget management and business analysis.
  • Develops and maintains the SCM Supplier Registration process in order to improve effectiveness, efficiency while ensuring the appropriate supply base to deliver to the customer.
  • Tasked to upgrade the skill sets, effectiveness, and efficiency within the department, through people development, process improvement and expansion of technology.
  • Acts as a liaison for the SCM department to enhance and/or develop the operating processes
  • Be the first point of contact for any internal or external audit within the SCM department
  • Ensures the management, reporting, monitoring and improvement of the KPIs of the department to ensure performance improvement (e.g Demand Planning contractual KPIs, inventory management, maintaining inventory level, meet cost, quality and service level requirements).
  • Leads and drives the streamlining and consolidation of vendors to increase volume/buying power
  • Optimizes overall cost levels and realizes savings in procurement portfolio and vendor base based on trends, benchmarking, analysis and negotiations
  • Ensures rigorous adherence to GAL SCM policies and procedures
  • Defines and prioritizes projects related to procurement objectives and the organization strategy and tactical business plans
  • Participates and leads GAL SCM Committees handling and resolving serious complaints
  • Manages the Procurement Committee and execute the outcome actions from the Committee
  • Oversees and controls the General Procurement and Business Integration Teams
  • Effectively communicates and provides high-level updates to top management
  • Directs and mentors a dynamic team of general procurement and business integration professionals
  • Integrates the general procurement operations with other key departments and operating divisions
  • Responsible for adequacy and assessment of areas of risk related to general procurement
  • Schedules and organizes benchmarking when required
  • Maintains and ensures a data classification and data security program within the Department
  • Manages section’s strategic and operational objectives (KPIs) that are aligned with and drive the achievement of GAL’s strategy and objectives.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance on all matters pertaining to General Procurement functions that may influence the product or service delivered.
  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the section to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established policies, processes and procedures.

QUALIFICATION

  •  - Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related technical field
    • Master degree is preferred
    • Professional Project Management (PPM) or PMP Certification is preferred

EXPERIENCE

  •  - Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in relevant work experience in PMO or program/project management
    • Experience presenting results in front of senior audiences
