We are seeking a Design Engineer to work at our India Engineering Center campus in Bengaluru, India. The successful candidate will join the Materials & Processes Engineering (MPE) organization.

Job Description:

  • The Materials & Processes Engineering organization (MPE) is seeking CAD and Drafting support at the Pratt & Whitney India Engineering Center.
  • The individual will work with customer supplied inputs to define requirements, provide expert consultation, plan, and perform modeling/drafting related projects.
  • The individual will work in a cohesive interdisciplinary team environment and will be responsible for the creation of 3D models and 2D drawings for applications such as: Structural test tooling, fixturing and hardware, Complex special test equipment, Facility modifications, Test specimen drawings and layouts.
  • The successful candidate must have broad knowledge and industrial experience with CAD software packages, preferably Siemens NX as well as machining practices to fabricate tooling and test specimens.
  • The successful candidate must have exceptional technical, teaming, organizational and communication skills, as well as be adept at problem solving and have an exceptionally high level of motivation and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide drafting support to various groups within Materials and Processes Engineering for the purposes of creating tooling, fixturing, test benches, specimens lay outs, and exporting into FEA packages like ANSYS, MSC, DEFORM etc.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in a Technical Field
  • High proficiency in multiple CAD packages, Siemens NX proficiency required
  • Proficient in GD&T concepts with proven industry application
  • Minimum 5 years of CAD and drawing creation experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability in import CAD models into analytical software tools such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, Procast, MSC, DEFORM
  • Proficient in Solid View, Proengineer/Creo; CATIA
