Job Description

Responsible to carry out all engineering related activities for NSRC’s aircrafts major and minor modifications as well as systems integrations. Engineering activities primarily related to aircraft structures, and systems. Provide engineering and technical support to NSRC on aircraft related projects/programs.

Will also be responsible for:

• Provide engineering support to NSRC projects under the following aeronautical areas: aircraft systems and avionics, aircraft structures and mechanical systems, and aircraft performance.
• Develop and maintain inspection and acceptance criteria for avionics, and systems installed during aircraft modifications.
• Assist Aviation Systems Integration Program Manager and Program Manager on activities related to integration of equipment for modifications projects.
• Assist Aviation Systems Integration Program Manager and Program Manager to track and control all evaluation/inspection reports and open issues concerning the contractors during site/off-site modification processes.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of procedures to ensure the use of aviation standard practices.
• Provide technical advice/support to Aviation Systems Integration Program Manager for aircraft modification projects in subjects related to aircraft avionics and systems, aircraft structures and mechanical systems.
• Provide technical advice/support to NSRC on new aircraft acquisition programs in subjects related to avionics and systems engineering.
• Develop local modification work orders and engineering orders together with unit engineers.
• Analysis of FAA, EASA, SAE, ASTM, MIL regulations and standards for proper applicability to NSRC projects and modifications.
• Evaluation and analysis of aircraft performance according to modifications installed, i.e., weight and balance changes, flight envelopes, payloads, endurance changes, cruise velocities, etc..
• Perform system analysis and research of possible future modification to be implemented on NSRC fleet.
• Review and provide technical advice/approval for final avionics and systems engineering drawings and technical proposal from contractors..
• Review and provide technical advice/approval for final aircraft analysis, structural validations, and engineering drawings for local MWOs and engineering orders.
• Develop and maintain Standard Procedures for managing drawings related to modification projects.
• Develop procedures for drawings requested changes/discrepancies on contractors drawing packages, and drawings for local modifications.
• Develop wiring diagrams, system diagrams, 3D models, and CAD drawings required to carry out local modification projects.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by Aviation Systems Integration Program Manager.

QUALIFICATION

•   Undergraduate degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or other related engineering degree.

EXPERIENCE

•   5 years experience working on aviation industry and related programs such as maintenance, engineering operations, etc.
•   Technical / engineering experience on aircraft structural/electrical modifications, servicing, repairing.
•   Sound Knowledge of aircraft structure and systems engineering.
•   Sound knowledge of aviation standards, airworthiness, engineering, and capability development activities.
•   Experience working for major programs such as aircraft acquisitions, major integrations and modifications, etc.
•   Proficient in the use of Microsoft office suites such as word, excel, power point.
•   Proficient in the use of Computer Aided Design software.
