Job Description

  • Drive growth & accelerate capability development in line with strategy. Lead efforts to enrich PDLC experience and gain end to end ownership on focus areas.
  • Provide tactical and strategic direction for Technology development in CoE. Provide technical leadership to the team to execute projects and make day to day engineering decisions.
  • Lead cross functional/ multi-disciplinary team in making technology/ engineering decisions in line with division’s strategy and future growth plans.
  • Recruit and retain a team of engineers to provide product / Technology development and engineering services to the global engineering needs
  • Manage and develop people: identify, attract and develop key engineering talent for the organization. Champion continuous process improvements to support the Eaton Business System; Performace Evaluation, Employee Survey, DFSS
  • Performs Reviews for design, modeling, simulation and implementation of analog, digital, and power electronics including controllers, Gate drivers, sensor interfaces, and SMPS for power conversion and protection. Designing, developing and testing power electronics platforms and systems for Aerospace products such as Embedded controllers, Motor controllers, Power Converters, Power distribution applications in hybrid and electric vehicles
  • Close collaboration with global, embedded product development teams from initial conception through each of the design and development phases, up to and including certification and product launch with the support of model-based development processes, and utilization of automated testing, verification & validation tools. Evaluates the designs to meet requirements factoring in performance, size, cost, manufacturability, and reliability.
  • Contribute to design, modeling, simulation and implementation of power electronics, including analog and digital electronics, for power conversion and Motor controller technologies. Should drive usage of DFSS tools & preferably Green Belt Certified. Drives & track OTD, CTQ maturity, FPY & QOS on key growth programs
  • Should handle hardware system design including end to end product development involving complex analog & digital circuit design with 16/32 /64 bit microcontrollers based designs, development, launch support. Collaborate with mechanical, layout, and firmware engineers to successfully develop and validate the designs. Interface with Business Unit (BU) engineers to drive strong business cases for new commercial applications

Qualifications

Requirement:

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering (Power Electronics, E&TC, Electronics, Instrumentation,)
  • Minimum 10+ Years of experience in Aerospaece End to End Prodcut development experience from Requirements to Product launch phase, Minimum 2 Product launches
  • Extensive experience in hardware system design including end to end product development involving complex analog & digital circuit design, microcontroller based designs, development, verification & validation, qualification & certification testing, launch support. Including Subsystem Requirements Generation from top level system specifications.
  • Proven experience on Talent management (Hire, Develop, Retain), resource allocation and project management.
  • Significant hands-on experience with Power Electronics base Aerospace product development and testing
  • Modeling, simulation and analysis experience with tools like Matlab/Simulink, SPICE, PSIM tools
  • Hands-on experience with power converter development and testing and with control strategies of electric drives/motors for traction
  • Demonstrated project execution from concept through commercialization on projects of medium technical complexity involving concept generation, Detail Design, Verification, Validation and certification as per global standards.
  • Should have hands on experience and strong knowledge of EMI / EMC standards and environmental compliances – IEC / SAE/ ISO / RoHS / REACH etc
  • Exposure/ Hands on experience and strong knowledge on Aero standards DO160, DO254
  • Exposure / Hands on experience on Digital Communication protocols like CAN, RS232, SPI, I2C etc.
  • Should have strong knowledge of DFSS tools & preferably Green Belt Certified
  • Drive & track OTD, CTQ maturity, FPY & QOS on key growth programs
  • Should have ability to mentor people on complex technical issues.
  • Strong analytical & problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • PCB layout experience and knowledge of PCB assembly process
  • Experience in designing electronics with thermal and reliability consideration.
  • Design for Manufacturing, Assembly and Testing
  • Product Launch Management
  • Knowledge of EDA Tools like Allegro Capture/PSpice, Matlab, Mentor Graphics – Dx Designer & PADS logic.
