Boeing India Engineering is currently looking Propulsion Design Simulation Engineer (Experienced) to join their team in Bangalore, Karnataka. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) and Boeing Global Services (BGS) business organizations.

A successful candidate will understand the importance of collaboration and shall work with the Engineering Manager, Project lead & Propulsion Design and Systems expert to develop or optimize the designs, engineering process, analyze the supplier quality issues, support the development of ground breaking technologies and digital initiatives.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• This position will be responsible to support Propulsion design and the selected candidate will need to develop specifications and architectural and configuration concepts for associated vehicle systems to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
• The selected candidate shall work with structural analyst to develop the designs that will work in defined structural environment, characteristics and performance.
• Knowledge of structural design, mechanical design, material properties, awareness of Industry standards for structural and mechanical systems design.
• The candidate needs to be knowledgeable with various testing, analysis, modeling and simulation tools to estimate or calculate system performance.
• The engineer will need to have expert MATLAB programming skills and knowledge of GSDS and Simulink.
• Familiarity with Linux programming is desired.
• The candidate should have the ability to understand logical diagrams. i.e. logical blocks, math blocks, think Simulink.
• The candidate should have the ability to understand C and Fortran code (or at least be willing to learn).
• Defines and performs certification tests for propulsion sub-systems and components. Supports fielded systems to assure continued reliability.
• Develops concepts for future propulsion systems to meet anticipated requirements. Works under general direction.
• Have a strong desire to dig ‘deep in the weeds’ of system architecture
• Be able to ‘make leaps of faith’ and conceptualize scenarios outside the engine system that could be causing a problem.
• Desire to understand the airplane as a system.
• This position will be responsible for coordinating and communicating regularly with team members in Boeing organizations and shall provide periodic update on project progress, quality metrics, project summaries, and other related documents.
• In this role, the engineer will work independently with minimum supervision to cconfigure or design propulsion sub-systems and components to meet all vehicle design and performance criteria.
• Knowledge and experience with engineering design tools (CATIA, ENOVIA, NX, CREO, TeamCenter PDM, etc) for Modeling, Drafting & Model Based Definition is crucial.
• Able to work under guidance with positive attitude and highest ethics.
• This position will participate and support initiatives of Boeing India organization related to engineering excellence, employee development, customer engagement etc.
• This position will be located in Boeing India Engineering and Technology Center, Bangalore, India.
• Bachelor Or Master degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Civil disciplines
• 8-14 Years of relevant Work experience.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Good knowledge of New Product development process.
• Good understanding of aircraft certification processes and lifecycle.
• Knowledge of stress analysis, structural design & mechanical design.
• Thorough understanding of GD&T
• Knowledge of PDM/PLM tools such as ENOVIA or Team Center.
• Able to verify accuracy of technical and non-technical data. Gathers relevant data for root cause analysis and produces changes to resolve the discrepancies in design packages.
• Advanced knowledge of design concepts and techniques (e.g., concurrent engineering, Design for Manufacture/Assembly [DFM/A]).
• Knowledge of various engineering fields such as mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables.
• Must be able to work collaboratively with multi-functional team. Must be willing to work flexible hours (early or late as needed) to collaborate with Boeing personnel around the world.

Typical Education & Experience:

• Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor, Master) and typically 8+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+ 7 years related work experience etc.)
