Job Description

As a Flight dispatcher you responsibilites are to undertake Flight Planning activities using the LIDO (Lufthansa Integrated Dispatch Operations) flight planning system, TOPS (Total Operations System), and Performance tools considering safety and economy complying with the aircraft limitations, local and international aviation regulations.

To ensure flight plans are released latest at 0145 hours before the scheduled departure time for every flight allocated.

Support the Senior Flight Dispatchers with recalculating flight plans due to last-minute payload changes, delays or aircraft changes.

Operational

  • Analyze the available operational data for a particular flight, keeping the operational feasibility in such a manner that a flight is planned from origin to destination with utmost consideration of safety, economy, and punctuality.
  • Computes the company flight plans, considering environmental conditions, aircraft performance capabilities, navigation and en-route facilities to ensure the structural weights are within the manufacturer's approved limitations.
  • Ensure to maintain up-to-date knowledge on technical bulletins and company fuel policy and contingency fuel planning guidelines, route manual revisions, and daily flight planning instructions having a direct bearing on the safe conduct of the flight.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of Flight Information Region/Upper-level Information Regions (FIR/UIR) rules, navigation aids, rules concerning overflights, aerodrome facilities, including navigation and approach aids and other ancillary services.
  • Interprets and applies data such as in NOTAMs (Notices to Air missions), MEL (Minimum Equipment List) and meteorological reports of the areas to which they are required to dispatch flights.
  • Familiarises them self with the latest Air Traffic Services (ATS) routes/navigation changes to apply the knowledge and skill while performing flight planning activities.
  • Ensure to file the ATS (Air Traffic Services) flight plan according to the local and international regulations, comply with approved routes, and avoid the restricted and prohibited airspaces.
  • Monitor, the Automated Flight, Plans allocated for AOS (Airline Operations Support) module to ensure flight briefing packages are released and ATS flight plans are filed latest by 0300 hours before the departure time
  • Monitor any aircraft change or type change initiated by the IOC operations to swiftly undertake the appropriate studies to release revised safe and economical flight plans and inform the PIC without undue delay to maintain a high level of safety and the OTP of the flight.
  • Maintains a continuous watch on the flight plans in their area of responsibility and advises the PIC of any operational information affecting the safe conduct of flight through any available communication channels.
  • In the absence of a Senior Flight Dispatcher, to assume partial responsibilities of Senior Flight Dispatcher (SFD) to maintain business continuity.
  • Dissemination of any operational information impacting the safe conduct of the flight to the Flight Dispatch and IOC management for timely action.
  • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience:

Without a Degree

  • High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification / Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with Minimum with 04 years of job-related experience.

OR

With a Degree:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with minimum 03 years of job-related experience.

OR

Qatari Nationals

  • Not Applicable

Essential :

  • Shall have completed a training course as per the syllabi provided in ICAO Doc.7192, part D-3 Flight Operations officer/Flight dispatcher; approved by a Regulatory Authority or a Regulatory Authorityapproved institute.

Preferred

  • Application of Overflight permission
  • Knowledge of EASA / FAA regulations
  • Knowledge of ETOPS/EDTO operations
  • Experience in Computerized Flight planning system.

 Job Specific Skills:

Essential

  • Good standard of English communication and written skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and other office application.
