Job Description

The position is responsible for flight planning, flight following and slot control functions while ensuring all operational tasks are achieved and regulatory/company procedures are adhered. to ensure smooth & efficient flight Dispatch flow with the objective of high-quality Flight Dispatch service delivery within the limits of Flight Dispatch Manual, Company Operations Manual, QSMS Manual, FAA/GACA regulations and Company Policies.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the Safety of flight dispatch of the operations.
  • Responsible for maintaining and planning safe and on-time flight schedules; forward planning to reduce disruption to the flight program and its possible impact on safety;
  • Exercise operational control on a co-authority basis with the pilot-in-command, and for the joint responsibility of the safe efficient planning and monitoring of a flight.
  • Develop, review, authorize, issue and revise the Operational Flight Plan for all flights inclusive of training and test flight operations, in keeping with Safety Regulatory.
  • Authorize the release of an aircraft to operate in accordance with the terms and conditions established by the Operational Flight Plan.
  • Analyze operational conditions and identify any opportunities that may constrain impede or benefit operational capabilities inclusive of, but not limited to weather, facilities, Air Traffic Control, and aircraft performance.
  • Perform Operational Flight Watch and determine if changes to operational and meteorological conditions may affect the safety of flights within a prescribed area or on assigned routes, and for communicating those changes to the Pilot-in-Command.
  • Formulate and implement revised Operational Flight Plans when conditions warrant and communicate the revised plans to the Pilot-in-Command.
  • Analyze operational and meteorological conditions to evaluate and determine the safest and most efficient minimum fuel requirement.
  • Provide the Pilot-in-Command with a thorough and professional flight crew briefing, covering all significant information which may impact the operation of his flight as and when required.
  • Solicit, interpret, and maintain current flight and field condition reports to provide flight crews with the latest operational information.
  • Capture up-to-date flight progress information of assigned flight movements (Flight Watch) and to ensure that the flight movement information is both current and accurate.
  • Provide Weight and Balance (if applicable) with the OFP, which includes total fuel requirements and aircraft weight limitations that maximizes revenue payload potential while satisfying all Safety standards.
  • Communicate with Air Traffic Control Services for all Operational Flight Plan requirements.
  • Resolve with Maintenance Department, the Pilot-in-Command, Flight Operations Management as required, problems caused by any aircraft deviation from standard which may limit or impact flight operational capabilities, and to communicate any operational limitations to the FOC co-ordination and respective operating branches, as required.
  • During irregular operations, congruent when practical with the Pilot-in-Command and in consultation with the FOC co-ordination implement flight delays when conditions warrant, recommend flight cancellations, and initiate alternative plans.
  • Communicate with the FOC co-ordination provide timely analysis of meteorological risk which may reasonably be anticipated to impact local and/or system operations including aircraft on layover.
  • Provide and communicate revised Operational Flight Plans to optimize revenue payload potential while maintaining adequate Safety Standards.
  • Administer, manage, and implement economic petroleum policies to maximize corporate profitability, subject to operational constraints and within proper safety parameters.
  • Ascertain that all ground facilities required for the flights are adequate for the type of operation.
  • Determine the conditions of the airport are appropriate.
  • Obtain weather forecasts and weather reports at destination and intermediate airports.
  • Obtain regular NOTAMs summary and brief crew accordingly.
  • Provide effective communication with flight crew and maintenance.
  • Prepare the flight plan in conjunction with published aeronautical data.
  • Prepare an alternate flight route for emergency cases.
  • Familiarize with current information concerning significant field conditions, route restrictions, irregularities of navigation aids, and changes in operational procedures.
  • Monitor the flight till 30 minutes after departure, then hand over to Flight Dispatcher in charge of flight monitoring for flight following.
  • Maintain and store current record of activities in a restricted area.
  • Send movement messages to destination stations after aircraft departure.
  • Monitor flight from departure till landing at destination airport.
  • Ensure that all aircraft safely land at destination airport.
  • Monitor aircraft performance and deviation from scheduled time of departure and arrival.
  • Monitor any aircraft diversion or progress to an alternate airport.
  • With co-ordination of Support Team, ensure that all required support is available for aircraft at destination or alternate airport in case of a problem during flight.
  • Inform all concerned sections with any possible or actual problems.
  • Keep complete and accurate records of all flight movements in AIMS;
  • In the event of an emergency, initiate procedures as outlined in the OM-A and ERP while avoiding taking any action that would conflict with ATC procedures.
  • Ensure flight dispatch handover is complete and to brief fellow flight dispatcher accordingly before the end of each shift.
  • Fill out Dispatch Shift Summary before the end each shift and send it to Manager Flight Dispatch.

Position Requirements & Attributes

  • FAA/GACA Aircraft Dispatcher Certification and High School certificate.
  • Minimum four (4) years of Flight Operations Experience and at least 2 years in Helicopter Flight Operations.
  • Fluent in English Language communication
