Role and Responsibilities
CAE Middle East is recruiting a FSTD Support Engineer I who will be part of a team providing Maintenance and Support for a fleet of Full Flight Simulators and Lower Level Training devices part of a Flight Crew Training Centre located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The positions will be reporting to the Group Leader Technical Operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Support the Flight Simulator Training Devices and Cabin Crew Training Devices: Attend maintenance calls, device setup, conversions and demos, assist during SFTs / PVCs, perform snag clearance, etc…
Independently perform the Preventive Maintenance Tasks (PMTs) and Daily Readiness (DR) on the training devices and associated systems. Ensure that PMTs are carried out according to the standards, and signed off. Ensure that PMT raised deficiencies are followed up, actioned, and closed in a timely manner.
Ensure that all recurrent QTG runs are done, and ensure that deficiencies associated to recurrent runs are actioned in a timely manner, and followed up on until closure. Troubleshoot related issues and work with the QTG specialist for resolution as required. Consult with senior colleagues for help / clarification.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve training device issues. Promptly update the associated DRs. Work with senior colleagues on AOGs. Communicate and share information with colleagues and other departments (logistics, scheduling, training department, etc…) to improve training delivery and customer satisfaction.
Monitor Simissues and action / update issues that are assigned to the on-site team for action. Perform all requested tests, and provide clear and concise feedback. Consult and coordinate with senior colleagues to ensure that all Snags and SPRs are actioned promptly, to meet SLA targets.
Make use of the Maintenance Management System to record, track, and review maintenance activities.
Comply with local & global CAE Environmental Health & Safety standards, instructions, and safe working procedures. Exercise duty of care for own H&S, and that of others who may be affected by his/her work.
Job-Related Skills/Background
Technical College Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Electrical or Aviation Field and at least 3-5 years of related work experience.
Excellent knowledge of the English Language, both spoken and written.
Highly engaged and motivated individual.
Customer oriented, and must be able to deal tactfully in sensitive situations.
Good workmanship and strong contributor within a team environment.
Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work under minimal supervision.
Able to work flexible shifts, and adapt to changing work schedules and shift patterns.
Suitable understanding of aircraft terminology and simulation training devices.
Able to interpret schematics and other technical documents pertaining to simulation training devices.
Knowledge of Analog and Digital principles and theory.
Must possess adequate troubleshooting skills of Electronic, Electric, Hydraulic, and Pneumatic systems.
Must be skilled in the use of test equipment, and software diagnostics tools.
Basic understanding and comprehension of Avionics, Motion, and Visual Systems.
Good computer skills with knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc…)
Basic knowledge of computer mainframe/architecture, networking, and operating systems (Windows NT/XP, UNIX, Linux, AIX).
