Role and Responsibilities

CAE Middle East is recruiting a FSTD Support Technical Assistant who will be part of a team providing Maintenance and Support for a fleet of Full Flight Simulators and Lower Level Training devices part of a Flight Crew Training Centre located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The positions will be reporting to the Group Leader Technical Operations.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Learn from a signed Engineer or Technician about the Preventive Maintenance Activities and Daily Readiness Activities on the Training Devices during OJT.

  • Perform Preventive Maintenance Tasks (PMTs) and Daily Readiness (DR) on the training devices and associated systems. The more complex PMTs are performed under the supervision of a Simulator Support Engineer or Technician. Keep the associated PMT and DR records up to date and available at all times.

  • Accountable to maintain, keep track, and request consumable items and tools required to perform the Preventive Maintenance Tasks and Daily Readiness.

  • Make use of the Maintenance Management System to record, track, and review all maintenance activities. 

  • Support logistics duties, including yearly inventories, re-arrangement of stores, packing and preparation for shipping, etc…  Perform housekeeping functions, administrative functions, and other tasks to support the technical services group, as reasonably required.

  • Comply with local & global CAE Environmental Health & Safety standards, instructions, and safe working procedures. Exercise duty of care for own H&S, and that of others who may be affected by his/her work.

 

Job-Related Skills/Background

  • 2-Year Technical Diploma in Electronics, Electrical or Aviation Field.

  • Knowledge of the English Language, both spoken and written.

  • Basic understanding of Electro-Mechanical Terminology.

  • Able to interpret schematics and other technical documents pertaining to Electro-Mechanical systems.

  • Basic computer skills with knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc…)

  • Basic knowledge of computer networking
