Job Description

To provide a system of Operational Control for the day to day management and running of the airline’s operations and network ensuring the schedule is operated in a safe, timely and efficient manner through the assets and resources of Network Control, Load Control, Guest Control and Aircraft Dispatch.

Accountabilities

• Plan and provide operational control for the airline’s operations plan, document and implement the required operational infrastructure, training, systems, policies and processes for commercial operations control through the assets and resources.
• Manages a team of managers who are responsible for ensuring the flight schedule operates in a safe, timely and efficient manner on a daily basis and the proactive and reactive contingency planning during times of disruption to the flight schedule.
• Responsible for the cross-functional interfacing with the commercial, operational and technical divisions of the airline, combined with third party stakeholders, to ensure that the daily airline schedule is delivered as close to the planned objective as possible
• Responsible for the network flight schedule for the coming 72 hours. Actively participate in crisis management situations.
• Ensure all staff are trained and effectively deploy the various rules and regulations that govern flight safety and security, in the effective completion of the flight schedule (crew rules, rest requirements, aircraft limitations, airport restrictions)
• Fulfill the company’s UAE National Development program by recruiting and developing UAE Nationals for key management roles in the department
• Ensure that the Operations Control department is equipped with a suite of fully automated tools which enables business intelligence through effective disruption management, On-Time Performance and payload management

Education & Experience

• Degree level education in aviation desirable
• 10 years in related roles in the aviation industry, with at least 5 years in a senior management operational control role within commercial aviation.  This should include extensive experience in leading a multi-discipline, complex operations control team/s while ensuring that the flight schedule is delivered in a safe, timely and efficient manner.
• Experience in plan and providing operational control for the airline’s operations plan, document and implement the required operational infrastructure, training, systems, policies and processes for commercial operations control through the assets and resources.
• People management/development experience and ability to lead team size of around 200 staff including Network Control, Load Control, Guest Control and Aircraft Dispatch.
