Job Description

An exciting new opportunity exists to join the Group’s award-winning and premier ground handling organisation, Qatar Aviation Services (QAS). This is an important leadership role where you will lead and manage all activities for Engineering Services and seek to enhance and deliver best practice Engineering management at our state-of-the-art Hub at Hamad International Airport. You will have direct impact and responsibility for implementing the project management processes, planning and execution, and the governance structure to ensure that QAS Engineering GSE workshop, stores and support services work streams are delivered on time, within budget and within scope.

Responsibilities - Strategic, Operational, Business Acumen, Management, Leadership and Safety:

  • Strategic planning to improve QAS Engineering performance and standards. You will be a key member of the senior management team leading the QAS Engineering strategic growth agenda and making key decisions in order to achieve the growth plan of the organization
  • Providing leadership of the QAS Engineering management team as an innovative, best practice Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Engineering Division
  • Overall accountability of the repair and maintenance workshops as well as stores and inventory
  • Application of best practice methods, systems and standards to lead, direct and govern portfolio, programme and project management within the QAS Engineering team
  • Leading the development and analysis of Engineering business cases with business owners incorporating Finance using best practice methodologies and governance.
  • Partnering with business units to identify gaps and opportunities in and between organizations in order to initiate process development and change management projects.
  • Identification and delivery of key Engineering projects that will benefit our business, our people and our stakeholders.
  • Identification and delivery of key strategic systems support in conjunction with QR IT to ensure QAS Engineering workshop, stores and support sections have up to date technology in place.
  • Review safety KPIs & processes of workshop, stores and support section to ensure that safety and security of the operations remain the highest priority
  • Delivery of the assigned Engineering sections KPI’s through proper monitoring of the workshop , stores and support section teams
  • Review of workshop team deliverables for completeness and accuracy acting as a champion for quality assurance, executing work plans and making modifications as necessary in order to achieve workshop services execution

Qualifications

About you:

Furthermore You Will Have

To be successful in this role you will be leader with at least 10 years of job-related experience in Engineering services.

  • Executive Management experience with P/L and Strategic Management experience
  • Significant previous experience as a GSE workshop manager or maintenance and repair workshop manager in industrial equipment / heavy equipment
  • Expert knowledge of ground handling operational procedures
  • Proven leadership ability to manage, inspire and engage a large multi-cultural workforce
  • Willingness to re-locate to Doha, Qatar
