Job Description


  • Conduct special operations combat mission training in all weather conditions and environments, during night and day, under visual and instrument flight procedures to include flying using night vision devices, Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) and sophisticated navigational and mission equipment. Assists in the development of syllabus, manuals and training documents. Performs classroom and practical instruction.

    Will also be responsible to:
    Primary duties as an Instructor Pilot for the Battalion providing classroom and in flight instruction within a Special Operations aviation unit.
    • Secondary duties as include providing advice and guidance to the Battalion Commander and the Battalion Standardization Expert on all matters relative to flight activities and operations.
    • Ensures that all aircraft procedures, flight operations practices, standards, and records comply with all JAC, Group, GCAA, and ICAO regulations.
    • Performs flight duties as an Instructor or Pilot-In-Command on aircraft type. Serves as an aircraft commander in accomplishing scheduled and unscheduled flights as required.
    • Performs continuation training and participates with tasked mission support flights for the purpose of continuation training and standardization.
    • Obtains briefing information on purpose of flight test, weather, operation procedures, intelligence, and special instructions. Prepare flight plans considering such factors as altitude, terrain, weather, aircraft, crew capabilities, threats, operational and training requirements and flight procedures.
    • Ensures the aircraft is pre-flight inspected, loaded, equipped, and manned for mission. Inspect and test equipment for proper operation. Ensures that weight and balance is correct, fuel supply is adequate, and survival and rescue equipment is properly stowed.
    • Brief crew members and non-crew members on safety, emergency procedures, and scope of mission. Pilot aircraft and command crew to accomplish assigned mission.
    • Must be able to work flexible hours as deemed by the Battalion Standardization & Evaluation Expert or the Battalion Commander.

QUALIFICATION

  • High school graduate, Bachelor in Business Administration preferred.

    Qualified on similar Assault helicopter types. E.g. CH47E/F/G or UH60L/K/M.

    Must have recognized Instructor Pilot School certificate from a MOD.

    Must have a good working knowledge of aviation mission planning systems (CFPS) and all Microsoft Office applications.

    Combat experience is highly desired.

    Should have a current FAA and/ or US Army Class II flight physical for initial application, then the ability to pass a UAE Military flight physical.

    Must be able to pass hands-on flight standardization evaluation.

EXPERIENCE

  • Ten years’ experience within the last five years piloting and instructing on aircraft type.

    Special Operations Aviation background preferred.

    Combat experience preferred.

    Must have 2500 flying hours with 500 flying hours as a pilot instructor.

    Must possess knowledge of FAA, GCAA or EASA regulations.
