Job Description

Responsible to the SAR Standardization Instructor Pilot and the Search And Rescue (SAR) Senior Advisor to perform as the AW139 IP and Subject Matter Expert for the SAR flight training program. Assist the SIP in managing the standardization program to ensure that all training is focused on the SAR Mission and crews are proficient in all assigned tasks. Assist in the conduct a periodic assessment of the overall SAR program requirements for the implementation of search and rescue best practices to include provisions contained in the relevant International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and International Maritime Organization (IMO) treaty obligations of the United Arab Emirates concerning civil search and rescue. Primary emphasis on pilot and crewmember training with emphasis on Search and Rescue operations.

Will also be responsible to:

  • Execute training and evaluation of pilots on all aspects of the SAR training and standardization program, to include safety and ALSE/NVG.
  • Train and evaluate pilots in the AW139 in accordance with the ATM and unit SOP.
  • Assist in the Chief Pilot to conduct a thorough assessment of the current training and standardization program.
  • Ensure all crewmembers meet the standards set in the ATP requirements.
  • Assist in the review and development of SOPs, ATMs, and unit regulations.
  • Perform as Pilot in Command and/or Instructor Pilot on AW139 and serve as aircraft commander in accomplishing scheduled and unscheduled flights as well as post-maintenance flights, acceptance flights, and support missions as prescribed by customer requirements.
  • Recommend needed changes to the unit program to foster improved proficiency of the system and for all SAR crew members.
  • Assist to develop the future SAR strategy to increase the productivity of the SAR support to the UAE community.
  • Encourage the development of infrastructure to support search and rescue operations, communications, training, and simulation system.
  • Handling any other assigned task from his direct supervisor/ manager.

NATIONALITY

  • No Restriction

 Minimum Qualification:

  •   High school graduate, BA or BS preferred. Minimum:
    • 1,500 Flight Hours Rotary-Wing/Fixed-Wing Operations
    • 500 hrs on AW139
    • 250 hrs as an IP
    • 50 NVG flight hours.
  •   Must have FAA CFI, equivalent Military instructor pilot, or GCAA/EASA instructor rating.
  •   ATP Rotorcraft AW139 type rating is desired.
  •   Must have a current driver’s license and valid passport and must be able to pass a security background check.

EXPERIENCE

  •   Three years’ experience within the last five years piloting and instructing on AW139 aircraft with SAR and NVG related duties.
  •   Factory training in aircraft model to be flown or other combination of experience and education that meet the requirements may be substituted.
  •   Must possess knowledge of SAR services and regulations.
  •   Offshore SAR and MEDEVAC experience highly desired. Extensive experience in the execution of a SAR program and an aircrew training program.
