Main responsibilities:
The intern will have work on exploring design of a solution and then establishing clear value propositions behind the below mentioned ideas:
Chip Enabled Baggage Handling System Every year passengers leave millions of items - including phones, wallets and bags - on planes and in airports, costing the industry millions of dollars in repatriation costs. It can cost up to $95 to manage and repatriate a lost item, including registration, handling inquiries and customer calls, storage and postage. Today when a customer misses his or her connection, agents on the ground manually scan each bag to find the customer's luggage and ensure it is retagged for the new flight. With RFID scanners, agents have the ability to take inventory quickly or pinpoint a single bag.
Automated Aerobridge Docking Station To improve the turnaround time of an aircraft, a solution could be explored which could be based on sensor technologies that would help in identifying the door size, positioning of the door and automatically dock of the Aerobridge, thereby saving time in alignment of the bridge with aircraft, also save the potential damages to the aircraft due to manual handling of it.
