Job Description

Role Summary/Purpose:

As part of the GE India Multi-modal Manufacturing team, the NDT inspector is responsible for establishing an efficient and continually improving In-process quality systems as per AS 9100 / ISO 9001 and NADCAP , own developing and executing the NDT plan to address the key Quality deliverables in the project including analysis.

Essential Responsibilities

  • The position will report to the NDT Level 3 / Quality Manager.
  • Responsible to carry out inspections in NDT (FPI)
  • Develop & implement NDT techniques as applicable to process.
  • Work closely with NDT / Quality system teams to develop and implement AS 9100 / NADCAP procedures. Understand requirements for NDT certifications and own all actions to obtain certifications.
  • Train NDT process trainees for OJT functions.
  • Willingness to work & get qualified to CFT NDT methods & other quality related functions along with working with HPT teams for daily analysis of yield improvement , EHS & process improvisation projects.
  • Contribute to continual improvement through audit programs, assessment / of various non-conformances and driving corrective actions identified through Root Cause Analysis.
  • Develop & Monitor all quality parameters (NDT) for in process
  • Understanding of site quality QMS procedures & policies.
  • Understanding of process & yield improvement tools like RCA , KAIZENS etc.
  • First Class Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering with NDT –I/II certified preferably NAS410 OR min 500 hours OJT in FPI with a level 2 in FPI /completion of FPI theory training is mandatory
  • 5+ Years of Experience in Aviation industry in the fields of FPI is desired & OJT hours per NAS 410.
  • Working knowledge of AS 9100 and NADCAP requirements.
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes and provide solutions
  • Strong hands on experience in performing NDT process control checks & working per GE-AVA specific customer P specs
  • Ability to handle diverse activities simultaneously and Ability to work in a matrix organization.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with good oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of NADCAP
  • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma Methodology
  • Fluent in English and Hindi Language (Written and Spoken
