This position assumes complete responsibility for leading and executing launch vehicle systems development and flight qualification efforts at Skyroot Aerospace. The role requires good understanding of all activities involved in developing space grade metallic and composite components
Roles and Responsibilities: Will typically include (but not restricted to),
Lead multiple teams with varied skills and expertise in aerospace design, manufacturing, integration, quality, supply chain & project management
Review and clear the engineering drawings, design documents, structural analysis reports, manufacturing process documents, integration documents, test plans, post-test reports etc.
Ensure the quality management system is followed and all appropriate approvals for quality documents are obtained
Interface with all teams including aerodynamics, controls, electronics etc to ensure the cleared designs are most optimum at the entire systems level and for manufacturability.
Interface with project management and supply chain teams for managing program schedules and budgets
Act as the technical focal point for Skyroot Aerospace with external industry and government partners
Assist in building a world class teams by identifying the gaps within the teams, providing appropriate on-the-job training and hiring right candidates at the right time
Minimum Qualifications and Skills
At least 10+ years of experience in a similar role with an Aerospace OEM
At least 5 years of experience in design, manufacturing & qualification of aerospace grade composite components
At least 3 years of experience in FEA involving one or more among linear, non-linear, dynamics, vibrations, thermal etc.
Hands on exposure to in-process quality for integration of large assemblies in Aerospace or Defense
Knowledge on raw material testing standards such as ASTM/ISO for metallics and composites
Hands on exposure to various testing methods such as structural, hydraulic/pneumatic pressure, explosive hot fire tests etc will be desired
Experience building and leading large technical teams in an aerospace environment will be highly preferred
