Job Description

Responsible for developing and implementing advanced numerical schemes in in-house CFD codes. Assist standardization and automation of CFD processess including meshing, pre-processing and post-processing. Develop test suites and validate the functioning of new capabilities, facilitate reviews with user community and work collaboratively with them for application to engine programs. Be up to date on the latest developments on CFD methods from external world and academia and enhance capabilities of current framework to improve business value. Resolve issues faced by the users on a timely manner and document the learnings.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the global development team and implement advanced numerical schemes in in-house CFD solver, pre-processor and post-processor
  • Maintain quality by adhering to existing code development standards.
  • Fine tune current formulation to continuously improve on robustness, speed-up and accuracy
  • Work with a global team of tool developers to build more automated CFD geometry and meshing capabilities for design
  • Be responsible for un-interrupted functioning of the CFD framework across all global sites
  • Own and manage user issues, ensure timely resolution by offering quick fix solutions
  • Conduct thorough evaluation of new features in the code to establish suitability for release and guide further development direction
  • Work collaboratively with design teams and assist development of best practices for CFD simulations
  • Leverage digital and machine learning techniques to improve capacity
  • Make recommendations after analysis of the data using quality tools. Protect the Intellectual Property rights of the Company
  • Participate in documenting & sharing lessons learnt in relevant technical forums

Required Qualifications

  • PhD/Post graduate degree in Aerospace/Thermal/Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong technical background in Computational Fluid Dynamics, Numerical methods and algorithms
  • Atleast 3 years of hands-on experience of developing CFD codes using  FORTRAN, C/C++ in parallel architecture MPI /Open MP
  • Strong problem-solving skills, self-learning abilities and shown track record of technical excellence
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional environment with strong communication and presentation skills

Desired Characteristics

  • Coding experience with CUDA & Python
  • Code development experience in Linux and HPC environment
  • Hands on experience in using commercial CFD codes (CFX, Fluent, ICEM, Pointwise, Autogrid, Tecplot, Paraview) 
  • Good understanding of Turbomachinery flow
  • Experience of using Machine learning methods and optimization techniques
  • Be flexible and adapt to work on critical priorities as per business need
  • Ability to collaborate and co-ordinate tasks involving global team members
