TSD tools platforms are equipped with state-of-the-art tools/methods which provides competitive edge for completing thermal analysis. NGT is one such platform which TSD tools team offers to GE businesses. NGT platform is an integrated framework that has a customized thermal solver with customized GUI (Graphical User Interface) used by GE engineers, for conducting mixed fidelity simulations that includes integrated Flow, Heat transfer and Mechanical analyses.
Lead Engineer – TSD Tools and Method engineer will be responsible for further enhancing thermal capabilities in NGT-Platform as per business need and fix issues in platform as reported by thermal users. This role also demands NGT code base deployment, testing and detailed validation before newer NGT releases of NGT to 100+ users. The tool owner must actively interact with all thermal engineers to understand the ask and must follow LEAN approach to eliminate waste as per business need.
In addition to the above, this role also demands strong collaboration with thermal users to empowering them in resolving issues/challenge faced while using thermal tools.

  • Gathering thermal enhancement requests from thermal users and translating those in to first principles-based equations and solving them through in-house solvers before implementing the same in the thermal solver.
  • Implementing thermal enhancement in NGT solver while ensuing desired connectivity between interfacing tools/methods such as Mechanical solver and Flow Solver etc.
  • Creating user interface (UI) specifications in accordance with enhancement request.
  • Empowering thermal users while addressing: 1. Bug/Issues reported by users,2. Issues faced while using thermal tools, 3. Automation requests 4. New technology integration requests.
  • Meeting NGT delivery schedule adhering to toll gate process followed within GE.
  • Following details SDLC process for NGT release (Code update, Integration, Compilation, Testing, Validation, TG review and Release)
  • Working on strategic POC’s targeted as enhancing tools state considering latest industry trend relative to thermal tools
