Job Description

The Logistics Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all incoming and outgoing materials / aircraft spare parts go through the proper levels of inspection. Products conforms to purchase order and specifications according to both GAL policies and procedures and AS 9110 standard..

Will also be responsible for

  • Provides updates on all items received ensuring they are properly inspected according to current policies and procedures
  • Inspects & receives materials / aircraft parts (new purchased/after repair).
  • Ensures that all aircraft parts are properly received and are not Suspected/Unapproved by enforcing a quality inspection based on current policies and procedures
  • Assures the receipt of approved documentation pertinent to part, materials, tools and test equipment and maintains a high standard of workmanship.
  • Compares the vendor’s shipper /certificate against purchase order requirements (if applicable)
  • Performs counting, measuring and other verification on the materials/products received
  • Ensures all discrepancies are reported, escalated and processed to concerned parties based on current policies and procedures.
  • Records all relevant transactions & ensures it is updated in cMRO system
  • Ensures all repair items are processed according to current policies and procedures & all identified scrap items are properly processed
  • Maintains a proper system for ensuring all items for dispatch are properly packed and label is attached on every item prior to the next movement
  • Validates all items received ensuring they have the proper validation from end user prior to binning
  • Ensures that all set Key Performance Indicators (KPI) are achieved at all times.
  • Manages re-inspection of internal supplied materials receipt from other bases, as well as components and other products to be process for outside processing (OSP)
  • Administers effective training and on the job training of Inspection tasks to other staffs.
  • Assists in any loading and unloading requirements during incoming of deliveries and dispatch to base
  • Provides support for special projects and programs to ensure all contractual requirements are implemented including documentation and delivery issues.
  • Ensures annual leave schedules are properly planned to not affect daily operations
  • Follows all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Recommends improvements to department’s policy and procedures in line with the drive for continuous improvement
  • Creates and/ or maintains filing system of all documentations in order to facilitate future referencing and easy accessibility.
  • Updates records and maintain files, both paper and electronic database.
  • Contributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement across all areas of the department. Not exclusive to their own area of responsibilities.
  • Follows all relevant safety, quality and environmental procedures, instructions and controls, so that the safety of employees, quality of products/services and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.
  • Accomplishes safety and housekeeping checks in the working areas.
  • Ensures that accountabilities for the implementation of improvement opportunities are completed within the assigned deadlines.
  • Performs other related duties or assignments as directed.

QUALIFICATION

  •  -Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

  •  -Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an aerospace maintenance and aircraft operating environment, preferably in military, of which at least 2 years in a similar position in an aviation distribution industry.
  • -Forklift license is an advantage.
