Job Description

To ensure that the fleet can meet the operational requirements of the flying programme. Acting as the interface between Operations, Engineering and Aircrew.   

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 

Key Activities

• To ensure the continued operation of the fleet from an engineering perspective.  
• Solving aircraft technical problems.
• Monitoring ADD/CDD/MEL levels, planning for clearance of defects.   
• Maintaining the ADD/CDD/MEL/OOPS data base.  
• Advising Network Controllers of MEL and customer comfort related items and their impact on the operation.   
• Recording and Reporting Technical Delays. Identifying the Root Cause of Technical Delays and making recommendations to the Head Of Maintenance to reduce the possibility of further delays of the same nature occurring.      
• Coordinating the recovery of AOG aircraft. 
• Maintain a detailed log on AMOS. 
• To monitor aircraft downtime and ensure that the maximum utilisation of all downtime for aircraft maintenance is achieved. 
• To deputise for the Manager Maintenance Control as required. 

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE/ KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

Minimum Qualification

• Current CAR 66 B1 or B2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License (or FAA/ICAO equivalent) with ratings on the Boeing 737NG and CFM56-7B engine.     

Experience

• Demonstrated experience in the maintenance of Boeing 737NG in a Line and Base Maintenance environment

Knowledge / Skills

• Broad knowledge and experience in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Suite and MRO Systems.
