Job Description

As a Maintenance Supervisor, you are responsible for managing maintenance personnel and coordinating maintenance activities for the building and equipment in support of production, sanitation and food safety. You will work closely with the Hygiene Officer and external contractors in order to ensure smooth operations in the F&B department in relation to occupational and food safety. You will also maintain a safe environment to work in and monitor all necessary procedures and oversee the entire installation, operation, maintenance, and modification of facilities, equipment, and physical needs of the F&B operation; maintain surveillance over maintenance processes for the purpose of reducing and controlling costs to facilitate production at maximum efficiency and safety at minimum cost.

Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinate maintenance team’s efforts to make sure the work is done in an effective manner.
• Develop maintenance schedules and enforce them among maintenance staff.
• Supervise and schedule maintenance activities, such as make-readies and service requests.
• Monitor and prioritize maintenance requests and tasks. Identify and expedite emergencies, and monitor workload throughout the day to ensure tasks are completed timely and efficiently.
• Schedule monitor and coordinate routine preventative maintenance on all appropriate equipment.
• Monitor all work or services performed by outside vendors and contractors.
• Train and develop maintenance team.
• Maintain accurate records regarding preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance service requests (received and completed), expenditures, unit make-ready status and work-in-progress.
• Coordinate and perform Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) as per schedule.
• Update maintenance tracker on a monthly basis and send reports to F&B Management for consolidation to ensure all maintenance requests are completed timely.
• Investigate reported faults and recommend course of action to rectify the fault to Line Manager to ensure that all repairs are carried out with immediate effect to minimize the disruption needs of the operation.
• Liaise with the Airport Authorities Maintenance department to ensure that Qatar Duty Free is aware of all Maintenance issues as they arise.
• Spot check all equipment and tools to ensure it is well maintained.
• Perform minor painting, carpentry and masonry work and all work out of maintenance contract (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles).
• Responsible for all inventory levels of spare parts and supplies; place orders as necessary.
• Schedule and perform minor and routine maintenance on all appropriate equipment on a regular basis.

Qualifications

About you

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

• High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with Minimum 3 years of job-related experience; OR
• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 2 years of job-related experience
• Successfully completed courses in basic electricity from a recognized apprenticeship programme or any 2 years electrician course
• Experience in the diagnosis, repair, installation, replacement, maintenance and troubleshooting of a wide variety of electrical systems, equipment and fixtures
• Must have experience in installation or maintenance of: walk in freezers\chillers, under counter chillers\freezers, ice machines, display cabinets, dishwashing machines, gas fryers, ovens, grills, solid top, woks, fry tops, salamanders, fryer, ovens, grills, holding cabinets, steamers, microwaves.

Skills:

• Ability to fabricate wooden furniture, cabinets, assembling and dismantling gondolas.
• Excellent knowledge of maintenance works of electrical, plumbing, drainage.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritise.
• Ability to operate a computer.
• Good Communication in English.
• Proficiency in preventive maintenance.
