Job Description

Manager Quality Safety Investigations (MQSI) reports directly to the Head of Quality Assurance – Technical and is responsible for the effective management of safety investigations who is further responsible for identifying and analyzing hazards and potentially hazardous conditions as well as for the production of relevant analytical information and data for use by operational managers in the prevention of accidents and incidents.

Responsibilities:

The MQSI is responsible for the following functions in relation to CAR M and CAR 145 approvals.

  • Objectively assesses the safety aspects of processes and systems in the organization. Actively managing any incidents that may occur in order to minimize Etihad employees’ injury and other forms of loss.
  • Supervise Technical Safety related investigations including management of ROSIs to ensure consistency on the day-to-day work in accordance with the SQMM and established processes and procedures.
  • Use judgment and industry best practice to recommend process improvement based on evidence collected during investigations.
  • Identify deficiencies, ambiguities, and other inconsistencies in company policies and procedures having a risk implication and advises HQA-Technical and VPCSTQ on remedial measures.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities, as reasonably expected, may be assigned by the VPCSTQ or HQA-Technical as required.
  • Undertake any other projects assigned by Head of Quality Assurance - Technical

Experience/Education

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in technical environment within maintenance org/airline
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in safety/quality and 5 years of managerial experience
  • Background of safety & quality with extensive knowledge in SMS, auditing within EASA /GCAA environment
  • Should be able to lead the team of investigations and recommend mitigation action following investigations
  • Should have the ability to positively convince stakeholders within technical & airline operations division
