Field Services Team at Hindan is currently looking for a Manager who will lead the activities of the C-17 back-shop facilities of IAF Hindan. The back-shop is a state-of-the-art facility of the IAF to support the C-17 program. The back-shop include Machine Shop, Sheet metal Shop, NDI shop and Composite shop, wheel and Tire bay etc. The equipment in the back-shop are imported and the selected candidate will be required to co-ordinate familiarization training to the IAF technicians, repair and maintenance of the equipment, arrange spares and consumables for the equipment. The Manager role requires working closely with a variety of engineering and non-engineering fields, IAF, US(G) and OEM. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense India (BDI) business organization.

Teamwork in diverse team is important in this position.  The selected candidate must be able to think proactively and work collaboratively with every team member.  Must be willing to work flexible hours (early or late as needed) to interface customers’ requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees performing engineering activities within Product Support. Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
  • Plans Safety, Security, Quality training for the employees in addition to the technical training. Will build an environment for diverse teams to work collaboratively.
  • Provide guidance and approval of technical approaches, and Boeing processes.
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes and provides technical guidance to resolve engineering issues. Manages, develops and motivates employees.
  • Guide technicians on the composite repair procedure, NDI process of aerospace equipment.
  • Guide technicians on repair and maintenance of the installed equipment.
  • Co-ordinate with IAF for tasks in hand and discuss all future planned maintenance activities.
  • Will demonstrate capability to co-ordinate with international teams and place demands for defective items.
  • Individual will work closely with team members of C17 Field Services. He /She will develop and maintain relationships / partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners to develop collaborative plans and execute on-going projects.

Travel is not a regular feature of the position but may be required up to 10% of the time; Domestically and/or Internationally depending on business needs

Employment will be subject to the candidate’s ability to obtain a security clearance from Indian security agencies/ IAF.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

An Engineering degree from a recognized institution/university.

  • 4 to 7 years of hands on experience in maintaining sophisticated equipment like CNC machines, industrial X-ray machines composite repair machines at Airport / Airlines/MRO/ Military Aviation Establishments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  NDI certification

  Composite repair experience
