Job Description

Educational Qualifications         

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar field) with 10 years of relevant experience preferably in aviation Engineering and Maintenance with 05 years in Development Engineering Division.
  • OR Diploma holder in Mechanical Engineering (or similar field) or ICAO Type II licence with 12 years of relevant experience with 05 years in Development Engineering Division.
  • Supervisory experience highly recommended for both cases.

Job Description

  • Efficiently and effectively, plan, organize, co-ordinate and control Propulsion team in order to achieve high quality technical standards in line with the CAME.
  • Establish an Engine Condition and Trend Monitoring program for the fleet.
  • Define a build standard for each engine/APU model based on Oman Air operation and environment.
  • Ensure SBs and ADs are reviewed and evaluated for compliance in good time.
  • Ensure engine and APUs are compliant with and configured for applicable ETOPS operation.
  • Implement a fleet management plan for each engine and APU model to reduce unscheduled removal, to optimally use spare engines to avoid AOG and to control engine maintenance costs.
  • Define cost-efficient engine/APU/component work scope at each shop visit of engine/APU.
  • Liaise with OEMs to acquire best practices and to keep abreast of current developments.
  • Carry out technical investigation on abnormal failures, repetitive defects and provide recommendations.
  • Exercise control on expenditure in line with the approved budget and justify any deviations.
  • Review maintenance contracts to ensure Oman Air meets its obligations and obtains all its entitlements. Provide feedback to concerned as necessary.
  • Review lease agreements to ensure timely engine removal so that redelivery requirements can be met without due operational and financial burdens on Oman Air.
  • Review shop visit invoices and ensure Oman Air is charged per existing agreements.
  • Review scrap parts for possible repair and cost savings.
  • Provide 24/7 support coverage to Oman Air Maintenance operations as needed and as applicable.
  • Train, guide and coach subordinates to enhance technical skills and leadership qualities in line with career development plans.
  • Ensure AMOS is configured properly for optimal usage.
  • Collaborate in the process warranty and guarantee claims.
  • Assist SMDE as required and as delegated.
