Job Description

The scope includes Route Planning, obtaining of Overflying Permits, Navigation Database management and invoice management related to Overflights & Navigation Database.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for Route Planning for International / Domestic flights
• Undertake study & analysis of all new City Pairs for the Aircraft Type as per communication from NPD as a Pre-Operations activity as also for any Charter operation, Ferry flight for Delivery/Re-delivery, any other ad-hoc requirement
• Analyze all operational restrictions / rules as per the applicable State AIP / NOTAMs and provide optimum route, inclusive of Overflying charges optimization
• Identify Ops Specs requirements for each Route (such as EDTO, PBN, PBCS, CPDLC, ADS-C, etc.) and ensure Route planning in concurrence with the Aircraft Type Approvals
• Highlight need for Ops Specs not currently held by the Aircraft Type for Route optimization and assist with approval process as required
• Oversee monitoring & review of NOTAMs applicable to the relevant airspace and aerodromes and ensure compliance thereof

• Propose optimum Destination & Enroute Alternates for a new Airport launch for further assessment from Performance Engineering perspective and finalization thereafter
• Liase with the relevant Divisions for the required support availability at the offline Airports
• Oversee the process for application and timely receipt of the required Overflying Permits based upon seasonal Schedule information as received from NPD as also for mid-season launch of new Routes/ Charter operations, Ferry operations, etc
• Liase with the applicable overflying Countries for any related queries, submissions, etc
• Oversee the cross-check of the Overflying Invoices and timely submission post Dept Head approval to the Finance Division for settlement
• Ensure cross-check of the received Navigation Databases as per the AIRAC Cycle and distribution thereof to all stakeholders in a timely manner

• Identify need for creation of Company Routes in the Navigation Database and communication thereof to the Supplier
• Liase with the Navigation Database Suppliers for creation of Tailored data as per requirement and resolution of Nav DB related queries
• Responsible for Navigation Database invoice management
• Assist CP Technical for IOSA / DGCA / Internal Audit
• Identify need for Crew communication from a Route Planning perspective and action thereof
• Any other duties assigned by CP – Technical / VP-Flight Ops / SVP–Flight Ops.

Skills & Attributes

• Thorough knowledge of Route Planning requirements (AIP familiarity, special Airspace requirements such as NATS, understanding of Ops Specs requirements & application, Jeppesen Manual) is mandatory.
• Knowledge of the Overflying Permits application process
• Knowledge of the Navigation Database coding, AIRAC Cycle, management of the Supplier provided Navigation Database files
• High integrity and good judgement

• Ability to train team members for Route Planning, Overflying Permits & Navigation DB activities

Work Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Route Planning, Overflying Permits & Navigation DB management

Qualification

• Graduate from a recognized University
