Network Operations Control

Job overview and responsibilities

The Manager will lead the Safety and Human Factors team in India Knowledge Center to provide analytical support to United leadership with the goal of enabling better operational safety & Training decisions that improve employee performance. The team will also support communication, scheduling, training and the safety operational leaders and groups of United.

Designs and develops the required data collection and analysis strategies. Maintain, integrate and implement Safety Management System Hazard identifications and reporting through data collection and analysis strategies for the AQP. This position will be responsible for identifying risk within the division and reporting areas that require leadership focus. The specialist will assist in the development of corrective actions and mitigations and serve as a consultant within the team to focus audits on emerging hazards.

  • Provides Leadership to 10-11 member team which includes, Technical Writers, Instructional Designers, Multi-Media Designers, Ops Schedulers and SMS & AQP analysis to help ensure that all engagements are delivered at or above stakeholder expectations
  • Develop and maintain a safety dashboard utilizing input from LOSA, DSAP, audits, and FAA. As well as: Design and develop the AQP reporting dashboard while coordinating with the training team on topics for each recurrent session
  • Develop quarterly report for Performance Based Contingency Fuel and present to leaders/FAA
  • Conduct analysis on repeat findings and establish a risk-based report for leaders to understand weak points within the operational areas observed
  • Collaborate with other organizations (Safety, Airport Operations, Flight Operations, Cargo Operations, Tech Ops, IT) to ensure conformance with systems and programs shared with Network Operations
  • Monitors corrective action commitments and implementation
  • Conduct special emphasis analysis  of Network Operations systems and programs based on previous audits, FAA enforcement action, ASAP reporting

This position is offered on local terms and conditions.  Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.

Required 

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience
  • 5+ years of experience with data analysis tools such as SpotFire
  • Experience with quantitative reporting and analysis
  • Forecasting, modeling and quantitative analysis
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and presentation skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills, which include ability to research issues to make informed decisions
  • High attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and be self-motivated while still working within a team environment and fostering strong team collaboration
  • Excellent time management, decision-making and organizational skills
  • Technical skills using software such as Tibco Spotfire, Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship
  • Must be fluent in English and India] (written and spoken)
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

  • Experience in an airline operational setting
  • Experience in airline load planning, station operations or dispatch
  • Dispatch Certificate
  • Professional certification in quality or safety
  • Previous AQP data analysis
