Job Description

The Logistics Manager works in close coordination with the other Department Managers while remaining under the Aviation Maintenance Operations Manager to provide comprehensive logistics support for achieving operational requirements readiness at all times. Direct and plan the logistics functions such as, purchasing, warehouse, forecasting, and management of retail and wholesale activities which includes environmental compliance and inventory management. Ensure proper planning and analyzing of current and projected materiel requirements, establish authorization allowances, and establish and maintain stock levels. Ensures accountability is maintained for supplies, equipment, and War Reserve Materials (WRM). Directs contingency operations such as logistics planning for deployment as per customer requirements. Manages cargo distribution functions such as receiving, storing, tracking and shipping of supplies and equipment. Establishes warehouse storage procedures; locations, location survey functions, inventory adjustments and proper care of supply in warehouse. Logistics management involves planning, coordinating, and evaluating the logistical actions required to support a specified mission, system or program. and maintain adequate stockade levels for mission accomplishment.

Will also be responsible for

  • Acts as primary advisor to Maintenance Management on all matters related to logistics support.
  • Receives & reviews supply demands Reports and processes the same for approvals from desired entity.
  • Maintain records of major Aviation vendors and establish close contacts for various procurements to ensure constant operational readiness.
  • Responsible for maintaining warehouses and various types of inventory in them.
  • Monitors Supply Operations to ensure compliance with policy and / or contractual requirements.
  • Responsible for logistics pipeline management and just-in-time delivery of supplies in support of peace or war. Directs logistics personnel in establishing supply and inventory control management functions.
  • Gives work directions, resolves problems, prepares schedules, and establishes deadlines to ensure timely completion of work.
  • Prepares reports and records on logistics activities for management.
  • Coordinates all logistical requirements with the maintenance department
  • Conducts periodic checks on inventories of storage supply items, initiates action for disposition of excesses, and make recommendations for changes to stock levels.
  • Assigns, or delegates responsibility for specified work or functional activities and disseminates policy to team leads and supervisors.
  • Locates and acquires standard and nonstandard equipment and supplies in order to meet readiness and operational requirements.
  • Trains, develops, and mentors supply and non-supply personnel on supply policies.
  • Identifies personnel training deficiencies and recommends a plan of correction.
  • Initiate employee hires, promotions, discharges, and transfers.
  • Implement excess equipment plan for disposal after all redistribution efforts are met.
  • Create policies and procedures for all logistics activities.
  • Resolve any arising logistical problems or complaints.
  • Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timelines targets.
  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
  • Ensure periodic inventories of stockade supply items, initiate action for disposition of excesses, and make recommendations for changes to stock levels. Ensures 100 percent property accountability is maintained. Develops standard operating procedures and performs administrative functions related to logistics matters.
  • Monitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements.
  • Develop risk management programs to ensure continuity of supply/logistical support in emergency scenarios.
  • Plan or implement improvements to internal and external logistics systems and processes.
  • Direct inbound or outbound logistics operations such as transportation, warehouse activities, safety performance, and logistics quality management.
  • Direct or coordinate comprehensive logistical or reverse logistical functions for product life cycles, including acquisition, distribution, internal allocation, delivery, recycling, reuse, or final disposal of resources.
  • Guiding, Directing, and Motivating Subordinates, Providing guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
  • Responsible for logistics pipeline management and just-in-time delivery of supplies in support of peace or war.
  • Responsible for all logistics service and support requirements with internal and external agencies in support of military aviation units and command and control operations centers; maintain 2nd line supports areas, including various aircrafts platforms, vehicles, weapons, communications systems, electronic/special purpose equipment and facility maintenance.
  • Responsible for providing supply support to internal customers units and external units as directed; to include food, clothing, property book and hand receipts support; cataloging; provide customer service and billeting support. Maintains good rapport with contractors.
  • Performs property accountability, asset visibility, and losses reports for the commander.
  • Review operations to ensure logistics support is in place to support future operations.
  • Ensure the Organization meets contractual requirements. Recommend changes and updates to Operations.
  • Attend daily production control meeting to ensure logistics plans meet maintenance operational requirements. Attend all internal and external meetings to ensure Team Leads and Supervisors remain focused on daily operations.
  • Provides technical guidance to personnel of supported sections in order to assist, establish, and maintain adequate stockade levels for mission accomplishment.

QUALIFICATION

  •  - Bachelor's Degree.
    • Certifications and practical experience or High School Diploma with years of relevant experience.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management or relevant field is preferred; or combination of college coursework.
    • Certified logistics course of instruction from civilian or military agency.

EXPERIENCE

  •  - Minimum of 10 Years Experience in providing Logistics Support
  • Minimum of 6Years Supervisory
  • Must have working experience in the related field civilian or Military.
  • Successful management and leadership experience, preferably in a multicultural and / or military environment.
