Job Description

Develops and manages a ‘best practice’ Recruitment function that provides effective service throughout the organization as well as promoting GAL both internally and externally as an employer of choice. Responsible for developing recruiting plans, employing sourcing strategies and resources to ensure sourcing needs are met, attract and hire qualified individuals so that GAL is established locally and also internationally as an employer of choice. Also, ensures that GAL meet its Emiratization plan and targets.

Will also be responsible for

  • Set the annual plan for recruitment of GAL along with all the Divisions and Departments.
  • Prepare and plan the recruitment budget, control the recruitment expenses to ensure recruitment spend is within the prescribed budget and take applicable action in dealing with variances
  • Develop and implement best practice policies, processes, and methods to support the recruitment, selection, retention and Emiratization at GAL to meet changing priorities and increasing activity levels.
  • Set along with the VP- HC and GS an Emiratization plan that includes Emiratization targets for the next 3-5 years and looks into which positions can be emiratized.
  • Supervise the recruitment cycle and process across GAL and make sure they are efficient and encourage the utilization of recruitment best practices (assessment centers, advertising, search and headhunting)
  • Oversee the determination of applicant requirements by studying job description and job qualifications
  • Select the most cost efficient sourcing options to attract talent for the company evaluate the effectiveness and formulate policies to monitor the usage of them
  • Review and assist line managers in the development of assessment tools to ensure the right talents are selected for the job
  • Provide recruitment and HR support to functions in respect of candidates sourcing, screening, interviewing, compensation, procedures and policy whilst developing strong relationships and deliver excellent customer service
  • Manage and monitor vacant positions are filled promptly and that the vacancy level is maintained to the minimum level
  • Understanding trends that affect the talent needs of the business units industry
  • Manage relationships with recruitment and service providers partners and monitoring performance of their services
  • Promote recruitment services of department across all GAL functions and provide advice when required
  • Manage the evaluation of applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with managers; interviewing applicants on consistent set of qualifications
  • Support effective decision making during the recruitment and selection process and ensure that most qualified individual receives the job offer
  • Manages employment campaigns and ensures that the targets/objectives are met.
  • Participates as team member to improve system performance and automation projects.
  • Conducts reference checks for shortlisted candidates, regarding senior professional employees to ensure that information gathered from the interview and CVs, e.g., latest salary, etc. are correct.
  • Performs other related duties, such as creating recruitment statistical status/progress reports. Prepares orientation and training programs for new personnel within the recruitment department and gives guidance on all recruitment processes and procedures.

QUALIFICATION

  •  -Bachelors in Human Resources Management or equivalent.
  • -Recruitment assessments, preferably Level A & B occupational assessor qualification.
  • -Preferable related qualifications (e.g. CIPD)

EXPERIENCE

  Minimum 8 years’ experience in HR of which 5 years must be in a supervisory position in Recruitment of Aviation, Technical, Operational, Engineering and other senior professional staff.
