Job Description

 

  • Ensure all new product updates and/or amendments are clearly communicated to all ticketing/sales staff. Interpret Rules & Regulations to ensure staff understand the same, thereby minimising queries. Encourage discussion and implementation of topics related to our business e.g. Enhancing customer service, change management, improving productivity, etc.
  • Assist the various market segments; - Corporate, Leisure and Inclusive Tours, in preparing tariffs, incentive agreements, business house and corporate preferred user agreements; and other related circulars as required by the travel agencies or commercial accounts.
  • Using the business tools available to prepare business cases and provide data with recommendations to make informed decisions.
  • Co-ordinate all matters relating to the collation and maintaining of competitor pricing and tariff information and any tactical initiatives. Provide monthly summary reports of competitors, activity including market share assessments and forward trends. Make recommendations as necessary to achieve revenue targets with optimum yields on a route by route basis. Liaise with Head office Pricing and Yield Management to obtain the necessary approvals to achieve the revenue and yield objectives, providing support analysis and competitor information as necessary. Prepare and make the appropriate tariff filing with the relevant authorities to obtain the necessary approvals to pursue the EK marketing and sales objectives.
  • Monitor competitor's Pricing activities on a fortnightly basis and suggest strategy for the stations/ Recommend increase/reduction of fares after thoroughly evaluating SWOT, MIDT and other related statistics./Propose alternative ideas/opinion/solutions to ensure a pro-active approach rather than a reactive one/ Analyse and identify weak sectors and accordingly adopt a strategy in tandem with sales in a timely fashion/ Ensure all staff are familiar with all fares rules and Pricing Approvals/ All new / updated procedures and amendments are to be implemented within agreed timescales/ A complete performance evaluation of tactical, deals etc. must be done so that corrective action can be taken/ All adhoc deals must be given in accordance with the EK policy, only when necessary, and must be in writing.
  • Extend complete support to Sales, Sales Executives and Ticket Office staff on all Pricing and related matters
  • Coordinate with the various departments to ensure day-to-day smooth functioning and elimination of discrepancies
  • Provide prompt resolution to sales executives on any queries in order to minimise their response time to respective clients
  • Ensure fares are rolled out to the market only after all clarifications have been sought in advance from HO
  • Prepare and release effective mailers to the trade in tandem with other stations and in accordance to the guidelines laid down by HO.
  • Responsibility includes sharing of information to all customers, external as well as internal.
  • Ensure that the Sales/Ticket office staff/Finance are always up-to-date with any changes/amendments in offers/fares/pricing flexibilities that are introduced.
  • Provide statistical information on a monthly basis of IT seat take-up/release back and individual operator revenue performance. Establish monitoring procedures for measuring new operators performance, on a route by route basis.
  • Provide the appropriate administrative support for sale functions, special events, road shows and competitors, liaising with external agencies and Head office corporate communications as required.
  • Ensure an awareness of industry technological advances and changes, in particular the creative use of GDS’s, NDC platform, the internet and any other distribution systems. Provide monthly reports on industry distribution methods and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Ensure new agency, business house, commercial or IT contacts are prepared promptly, and existing agreements are maintained and administered in a professional manner. All agreements with incentive payments or trigger threshold payments are to be dealt with promptly to ensure timely payment, all payment queries to be considered as serious threats to future goodwill and business potential.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educated to degree level
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Tariffs and Ticketing and analytical skills.
  • A thorough knowledge of Fare construction, Ticketing, Refunds and Pro rates, and the main GDS’s.
  • A working understanding of the main GDS’s used in the Indian market.
  • Ability to analyse data and prepare analytical reports, covering market shares and trends.
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English.
  • Must have the right to live and work in India .
