Job Description


Ground Services Management is currently recruiting for Regional Manager Network Stations.

In this role, you will manage the ground operations of the assigned region in line with Qatar Airways policies and procedures as well as the Ground Services Manuals and Ground Operations Manuals. You will ensure that the Ground Operations are conducted with the highest levels of customer care, operational efficiency and regulatory compliance. You will plan and organize resources within the region for existing stations and new stations start-ups. In addition, you will monitor expenditures of the region to ensure they are within approved budget.

Specific accountabilities include:

  • Lead in the implementation of the 5-Star on the Ground services strategy.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of strategic plans for the region and ensures that business strategy and performance objectives are cascaded to the region.
  • Plans, manages and sets-up new airport operations in line with company expansion strategy.
  • Ensures that new stations are assessed, appropriately budgeted, with relevant services contracted and operational functionalities are in place.
  • Plays an active part in the construction of the annual airport budget whilst ensuring the overall budget control is maintained.
  • Ensures that global self-audit/ local proficiency checks are conducted and reported as per QR Ground Services regulations.
  • Facilitates each station’s ability to achieve 5-Star on the ground service.
  • Monitors and assesses station KPI’s throughout the region and evaluates their continued effectiveness to meet the objectives.
  • Monitors Airport Services Manager (ASMs), Regional Airport Services Managers (RASM) and stations to ensure that the agreed KPIs are achieved.
  • Works closely with the Senior Management team to develop Business Contingency, Emergency and Accident Plan.
  • Ensures that all assigned regional airports are trained and capable of dealing with all irregular operational disruptions.
  • Ensures the highest standards for all aspects of Ground Handling by Third Party Handling Agents and suppliers across the region.
  • Reports local station deficiencies, operational and financial shortcomings.
  • Improves GHA supplier performance and reduces overall regions costs.
  • Develops, builds and maintains a global awareness of safety/ security and quality culture at all airports within the assigned region.
  • Conducts and conclude on investigations pertaining operational lapses and propose corrective/ disciplinary action in coordination with HR and labour law.
  • Conducts annual performance reviews for the ASMs and RASMs.
  • Addresses organizational and people development, succession planning, operational performance and business growth.
  • Establishes the department or teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.

Qualifications

About you

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • With Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • With minimum 8 years of job-related experience.
  • Experience in airline and airport operations with at least 5 years management experience.
  • Experience in managing teams remotely across different countries.
  • Strong knowledge of Airport Operations.
  • Trained in all areas of airline operations including management.
  • Knowledge of different regulations and safety requirements for Ground Operations.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in the English language.
  • Experience of leading, managing, inspiring and engaging a large multi-cultural workforce.
  • Able to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow.
  • Strong mentoring and coaching skills.
  • Computer skills – knowledge of the MS Office suite.
