Job Description

Optimise network revenues across all Origins and Destinations through co-ordination of all Market Operational activities within Revenue Optimisation by ensuring all pricing activity is delivered to the market on time to maximise speed to market, continuously monitoring the competitor activity within markets and directing the priority of all fare activity for the assigned markets and ensure pricing structures are co-ordinated with the demand team. Develop and maintain expertise around revenue management principals and techniques, and propose innovative ideas to further enhance application of revenue management.

Job Outline

Generic

  • Manage and prioritise all market fare work packages for distribution for the allocated regions. Ensure workloads are reviewed and any potential bottlenecks within the workflow process are identified and communicated with the Pricing Analysts and Pricing Managers. This includes the preparation of local corporate fare products.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to the end users and head office departments by answering queries, undertaking investigations and identifying areas of improvement. Proactively provide suggestions to improved practices, procedures and functional deficiencies, which will result in saving cost and improve productivity. Initiate and communicate all business requirements to the RO Standards and Procedures team and the RO systems team to ensure operational requirements are delivered.
  • Conduct and analyse all quality control process on tactical fare activity to ensure fare products are pricing as per the commercial intent. Proactively communicate and resolve any errors ensuring areas of concerns are clearly identified and solutions are delivered.
  • Conduct detailed Business User Acceptance testing on all solutions and provide sign off approval in agreement with RO Services and Market Operations team.
  • Lead and direct the teams to ensure departmental SLA's are reached ensuring all SLA's and reviewed by both the Market Operations team and the RO Services teams. Conduct process review sessions with the Market Operation teams to identify solutions to any process issues that result in non compliance with SLA's.

Market Operations

  • Proactively develop, manage and maintain a calendar and schedule of promotional and annual pricing activity for the allocated region. Develop in co-ordination with the MRO Pricing and Pricing analyst in planning fare package renewal/repositioning.
  • Manage and Monitor competitor monitoring activity and analysis through the Airfare and other pricing systems. Provide regular competitor activity summary reports to the assigned Market Operations teams for further analysis. Develop fare movement by availability on key ODs, using Infare and liaise with Market Ops teams for action.
  • Prepare and analyse market fare data for the demand analyst teams to ensure and support demand forecasting and modelling it done with market context.
  • Provide detailed analysis of market fare price position for the periodic review of strategic fare ladders and ensure EK fares are positioned competitively. Prepare and communicate competitor market analysis and reports to support strategic reviews of market pricing structures and price position.
  • Develop, manage and communicate market price positioning business rules to maintain price position within the associated markets.

Qualifications & Experience

Qualifications/Experince/Skills:

  • 12 years schooling with a minimum of 5 years’ experience with an International Airline, of which at least 2 years have been in revenue management or a commercial department.
  • Honours Degree in one of the following subjects Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Business Management or Logistics and Transport, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience with an International Airline in revenue management or a commercial department.
  • Experience in the use of ATPCO, Airfare, Infare, PROS, any GDS or MARS.
  • Proven analytical skills, ability to perform statistical analysis of various business situations for revenue enhancement.
  • Proficient user of Excel with expertise in the following functionalities: standard formulas/pivot table/inserting charts
  • Working knowledge of practices and procedures for establishing passenger fares for individuals, groups, special segments and corporates.
